Hi all! Went for my first post-op appointment today and got my staples out. Boy does that feel better to bend over now! I have lost 20lbs.! I am sitting right on 300 lbs. and so desperately want to leave that number behind forever! It shouldn't be long. I am not having any nausea and haven't vomited yet, thank goodness. Have to do the pureed for 3 more weeks and then I start soft foods and get checked a week later. I still fell pretty weak but I added four blocks to my walk today (before the storms!). I decided today to wait to go back to wor****il 4 weeks. They say they are doing okay without me so why not? I am soooo glad I did this! Jan Marie

Great job, keep it up....and out walking already You'll be sitting pretty under 300 in no time....and then 200....you just wait Keep up with the pureed and make sure to measure everything....Being weak is way normal....your body is going thru a lot....everyday it gets better and make sure to puch the fluids....Congrats again and keep up the great work!!! Take Care jesi

Jan, You're doing wonderfully! Way to go! I agree with staying home longer. It is so much easier to get used to your new way of eating when you are home and getting the extra rest cannot hurt. I aimed for 2 weeks (had mine lap) but ended up taking an extra week & never regretted it. The day will come when you will vomit, I suspect. Unfortunately, no matter how well you chew, some solid foods will rebel at first. Don't worry. You won't hurt your pouch & you'll be surprised how little comes up. One author described it like when a baby spits up & it is similar. Keep up the good work! We're proud of your success. Dixie

Very good for you Jan. You are really doing great and increasing your walking already. You are amazing. It was nice to have finally met you Sat at the support group meeting. Hope to continue to see you. Can't wait to watch (and support)your progress. Until next time keep up the good work. Isn't Dr Eibes and his group the best?!!

It was great to finally meet you too! Yes they are great. I did have my first when I got home Saturday. I don't know if it was because I didn't have my shake first thing (I had a scrambled egg before I left) or because of the awful chewable tylenol I tried to take the night before for a headache. You are suppose to chew 4-6 as an adult and I could barely chew 2 and they almost made me throw up. I could taste them all night long. I think it was them. I haven't tried an egg again yet though just to be safe! It was nothing like with a normal stomach. I felt better after about two hours and then just went back to clear liquids for 24 hours. Now I am back to normal. Have a good week. Jan
