24 hours later

I found out today that at my husbands new job, they offer blue cross and blue shield..both the hmo and ppo. I am so excited!! It could be that I have a new lifestyle this time next year!! I just have to wait the three months until he is eligible..I plan on just taking mytime about things..going to the doctor to tell them about my joint problems I've been having. I'm not going to make it seem like I'm jumping into the surgery!! I am so excited!!

That sounds hopeful! BCBS is wonderful about covering weight loss surgery. Have you done a supervised diet in the past couple of years? That is one thing they will want to see so you might put yourself ahead of the game if you checked with your physician about starting one while you are waiting for your insurance to take effect. I know once I made up my mind to do it I want to have the surgery NOW and there were all these hoops to jump through. Good luck! Jan

Make sure you call them before you choose. My BCBS HMO (Blue Advantage) had an exclusion. The PPO (Alliance Select) didn't.

I am very happy for you! I hope it all works out for you!! Three months isn't that long really...I have been jumping through hoops since January and I won't be having my surgery until June!
