hi everyone. Just wanted to pop in and say hi and see how everyone is doing. I try not to come to this site too often because it gets my hopes up for the surgery. I did get an email that they were able to get my picture on my profile now so I thought I'd stop in and read whats been going on. Sounds like everyone is doing okay. April, hope your throat is okay. I didn't read any posts that anyone else has had this problem. Did you find anyone else that may be able to help you with questions? Got a question..when you have this surgery..do most of your taste buds change? I thought about trying that Stallone pudding, but if after the surgery my taste buds/stomach dont like it. I sure dont want to be stocked up on it. Well I still have 4 weeks until my sleep study. GOD that feels like FOREVER! I still have 6 weeks until they can submit my paperwork to my insurance company. I know its not that long, but I hate thinking that I am going to have this surgery and then have my insurance come back with a BIG FAT NO.. Ok..my 2 cents. I will try to mosey in a little more often Janine

Good morning To answer your question about taste buds. Yes mine did. They changed several times since surgery. Most food taste to me, I just have to keep trying different things and going back to what doesn't taste as bad as other things. I believe though that the food tasting bad to me is a head game I am playing with myself, so don't go by this strictly. I have read on the main board though of others tastes changing. Good luck the waiting is so difficult but time goes faster the older you get. Hope to see you on again. Nice picture by the way. Cindy

My taste buds did change. I use to love PIZZA now I hate it. The small of it makes me sick. I do think it is a good ideal to try different proteins before. I didn't and it made it harder after to find one to use. If I were you I would just buy 1 can of the pudding and a few samples of the protein and try but wait to stock up until after surgery. I know that Mercy made me buy a certien type of protein so you wouldn't want to stock up right now until they tell you which one to buy. I had to show a recite for the protein that would last like a month or so. Before they would do surgery. Good luck with the sleep study. Let me know how it goes. Melissa 337/187/170

Hi Janine Keep your hopes up for the surgery. You just never know. Where are you going thru? Yes, taste buds change a lot. Of course, if something makes you hurl a few times, you just arent going to be nearly as excited about eating it the next time. I hadn't heard about that Stallone pudding, I see there is another post and I will read up on it. For me, I have gained back some. working at a desk 8-10 hours a day and not taking any breaks basically has been hell on my BOOTY... Always still reaching for the sugar to get me thru the next few hours, etc. It sounds like I know have hypoglycemia, which is kind of opposite of diabetes. I have to have the sugars now to get thru the day. The other morning I was at work, and hadnt had hardly anything to eat that morning, tested my sugars, it was 61 :O Well, let me know whats up, keep me updated! How is that little guy of yours? Find out any news on "genes" on him lately? Hugs Judi
