I am approved and I have a date!!!!

I called to check on the status of my prior approval with BCBS and I was told the approval letter went out yesterday! I called the doctor's office and let them know and asked if I could possibly have the surgery on March 20th as my autistic son will be at camp that week and they said OK! It couldn't have worked out more perfectly. I have my preop appointment this Friday with my surgeon and the preop physical with my family doctor on Monday! Less than two weeks and I will be a loser! I am so excited I can hardly stand it. I am shifting into high gear to be ready and to leave things in good shape for my co-workers who are happy for me but a bit anxious about my absence for recovery! Jan

I know they will. The timing is so perfect, too. I have company-wide meetings next Tuesday and Wednesday and then it will all be down-hill. How wild that my face got added today, too! If I can do anywhere near as well as you have done I will be thrilled! Jan

Congrats, on getting approved. You are in good hands. I notced that your surgeon is Dr. Eibes. In my own opinon I think he is the best surgeon. I had my WLS with him in 2003 when he was in Grinnell at that time. He is very nice and kind. He truly listens to you when you tell him that something is wrong and he goes out of his way to try to solve the problem. In fact I had just got done having another surgery with him just this week. He has very nice bed side manners too. I could just go on and on about him but don't want to bore you. Good Luck on your new life you are in good hands with Dr. Eibes. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR APPROVAL!!! I too have Dr Eibes. I emailed you about Dr Eibes before you decided to go see him. I'm glad you are happy with him and he is in my opinion the best. He just did a hernia repair for me on Feb 22nd and I went back to work today. He is a very compassionate man and compassionate about his job. Do you go to his support meetings by any chance?
