Welcome aboard Steve! I'm still preop, just had my first meeting with the nurse who gave us a heads up as to how everythings done and what to expect with the surgery. I still need to go to the dietician, get a psych evaluation and a sleep test and who knows what else. This is a great website where you learn alot and meet great people. Feel free to post anytime and ask questions if you have them, comments if you have them, just want to say hi or give us an update on how you're doing. Welcome aboard! Phil

Welcome This is a real rollercoaster ride to be on so glad your have chosen to share it with us. We will try to answer any questions you have that we can and give you questions to ask your surgeon. By the way from everything I have heard you have picked a very good surgeon. He used to be in the group where I had my surgery and all I have heard are good reports. As for recipes there is a recipe forum on the main board if you want to check it out. They may help. For pureed food I just put what ever my family was eatting in the blender and made my own food. Except pasta that didn't set real well in my new pouch. You will have many questions and make a few mistakes we all do. But it is worth the ride. Good luck to you and hope your journey is a smooth one. Cindy G

Welcome Steve, Feel free to ask anything you need to know. Someone here will have your answer. It's great to see another male on board. Us women kind of outnumber you & Phil but we're still happy to have you here. Just in case you get tired of us women, there is a board designed just for the guys to post & get male perspective. You can find it at http://obesityhelp.com/forums/men/ They seem to be a great bunch of guys & talk about just about everything. Yes, I do lurk there ocassionally. They know we women do and they don't mind as long as we don't post. But after visiting with them, don't forget to come back to us on the IA board. We want you here. The recipe board is found at http://obesityhelp.com/forums/recipe/ Lots of good stuff there. I can't help much with the pureed stage. All surgeon's have their own way of doing things & mine had stage 1, 2, & 3. I think in stage 2 we were told to puree if necessary but I mostly ate cottage cheese, yogurt, cooked cereal, scrambled or soft cooked eggs, tuna, things that were already soft. I'm sure as you get closer your surgeon or a dietician he suggests will give you guidance. Dixie
