Angiogram is over and done! Smooth sailing now!
I had my angiogram this morning and it was a breeze. I would rather go through that again than have another root canal! It only took about 30 minutes and I was home by 10:45. Despite attempts to sedate me, I stayed awake so I could watch and all of my coronary arteries are wide open and flowing well!
Now all I have to do is be patient and wait for the insurance response. I called today and they still don't have the request logged in but the doctor's office assures me they mailed them on the 21st.
Now that I know my heart is in good shape, I want to get to work on getting the rest of me in shape before this weight DOES start to take more of a toll on my heart. Thank you all for your prayers and support. I know they worked as I was totally calm and relaxed today.
Have a good weekend.

Glad to hear all is going well for you! I haven't been told I need to see a cardiologist...yet, but would welcome the opportunity just to see if everything was flowing in the right direction.
I've had a couple EKG's done and the slip of paper had come back "abnormal" (I peeked) but the doctor said he knew how to read it and it was normal for someone of my size. (I also like to think I was too hairy for the diode to stick)
Good luck on your journey!

Phil: just read your profile. I cannot believe you PCP won't support you in your efforts to improve your health. I guess everyone has biases. I am sure if you are going through Mercy's program, they will make you have a cardiology work up. They have you see about every specialist there is. Iowa Heart Center has excellent cardiologists. I worked as a cardiac surgical intensive care nurse at Mercy for 18 years and wouldn't recommend any other cardiology group! At first when I found out I had to have the cardiac clearance I was really scared but then I realized, like you, that it was an opportunity to avoid or prevent a potential complication. Hang in there! The wait is a killer! I started this process in October. I have BCBS also and have been told I may still have to do a 3-6 month supervised diet. My doctor did his best to document so I won't but time will tell. I will keep you in my prayers!
