Hi just wondered what everyones plans are for the weekend? I am getting cabin fever so I have decided to get out and about this weekend. Our High School is sponsering a mini Dance Marathon, it is to help raise money for Children with Cancer. I am going to chaparone that Friday night, we will be haveing 2 families speak about their experiences with childhood lukemia, one is my pcp and her husband, they have a 4 year old daughter with it. And the other family speaking is a family from North Amana who have a daughter that is 12 now but had 2 bouts with childhood lukemia and, then got Adult onset Lukemia, had stem cell transplant, then last year her father was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and had a bone marrow transplant. This should be a real tear jerker of a speach. But I think it is so worth while. Last year we raised over $5000. for CMN and childhood cancer. That is so awesome for this little town. We also raised over $50,000 at our annual Relay for Life. I am a big supporter of both of these events, I have lost to many to cancer and don't want to loose any more. Anyhow, on Sat. I plan to have my 8 yr old grandson, and my daughter come stay the night, and on Sunday we are going to have our 3 year old grandson, for a few hours. That should chase the cabin fever away. Hope you all do something nice for yourself, and have an enjoyable weekend. Cindy G.

Babysitting seems to be the big plan for me. Saturday night, I'm watching Emilee (6 weeks old) so Mom & Dad can go have some fun finally. It will be the longest I've had her so far & I am looking forward to it. And Sunday, yech, I guess I'll get my bills & receipts ready so we can get our taxes done. My medical bills will be a nightmare to figure out. Dixie

At least you will have some fun before the terrible TAX crap starts. You just spoil that little girl as much as you can. It is so great being a grandma. I love it. I am sure you are a good grandma to have. Emilee will be in good hands. It is always so hard for Mom & Dad to leave those little ones the first few times. I remember so well. Good luck with sorting out all the tax info you have. I don't even want to begin. Usually we just use the short form but since I had surgery and paid everything last year I guess I will have to see if we have enough deductions for this time. Yuck My son used to do our taxes, he went to college to be a CPA but he is opening his own business this year(a biodesiel plant) so he doesn't have time and dear old mom is going to try to do this, with the help of Turbo Tax. That is what alot of the tax preparers use anyhow. Well have a great weekend. It sounds like it will be a soggy one here. Cindy G.

Let's see..... I plan to get in some fun stuff before I start working again. I got hired at the new Walmart in Anamosa and will be working in the Infants Dept. It will be a good thing since I am going to be a grandmother for the second time in September so I can use that employee discount to buy baby stuff... yeah!! Saturday afternoon, we have the Ambulance Appreciation Dinner (hubby is an EMT) and then in the evening we are going to the Anamosa Fireman's Dance (my favorite local band "It's All That" will be there) and I plan to dance dance dance !!!! It sure is lots easier weighing 85 lbs less. We went dancing last weekend too and I actually got hit on TWICE...dang! I went running back to hubby In February we are going to the US Cellular Center to see the Famous Lipizzaner Stallions.... that is going to be cool. Oh yea, got my blood work back (in preparation for my 6 mth checkup on 2/2) and everything is perfect. take care and have a great weekend everyone!!! Leslie

Should be pretty quiet here. Still recovering from TT and get really pooped really fast. Yesterday I drove myself to my post-op appt (50 miles one way), came home, fixed dinner and went to Penney's to buy a new winter coat. Mine is a "little" large. Came home and crashed. Slept thru CSI. Today I'm going to try to go to the mall and do some walking, as the doc cleared me for that. Also need some new undies! My BP is still low as is my blood count. So I wilt really fast. Big plans but no stamina. I had kinda thought about trying to go back to work next week, but the doc put the cabosh on that. In fact, he wanted me to wait another 2 weeks. But I talked him into seeing me late next week and we'll see where my blood count and BP are and decide then. So I'm just hanging out (oh, I guess I really don't HANG out anymore)! Maybe read, maybe work on a quilting project. Lyn 262/147/142
