Oh No...Plateau???
I am 5 weeks out and seem to be at a plateau. Does this sound right? I have lost 39 lbs, but have stuck at the same weight for two and a half weeks. How long with this last?? I am so anxious to break the 200lb barrier, and am really close but have stalled out now. What can snap my bosy out of this weight-loss strike??
Thanks, Nicole
Oh how I hated the 200/to 199......mine took longer cause I started at almost 300lbs.....but that was so agonizing!!!!! But 5weeks out sounds totally normal for a stall.....or 3 weeks, or 6, or 7......It varies so much from person to person.....BUT is absolutely NORMAL. Your body just puts on the breaks for a few days or weeks (sometimes) to play catch up....you just had some major surgery and are losing some serious pounds....it is only natural for the body to put on the brakes every now and then to catch up! Oh yeah and to get technical a true plateau is 6 WEEKS without weightloss or inches lost....so have no fear...you are far from that I am sure it will pick up soon.....just make sure to keep chugging the fluids down! Take Care jesi
Hi Nicole:
I am right there with you. I had my surgery on November 30th and have been on a yo yo effect for the past 2-1/2 weeks also. Go up three lbs go down 4 lbs. I am increasing my water and walking more and now it is moving in the downward direction again. I also started to eat more during the day. Just a good healthy snack like cheese string or yogurt. I know this will end soon. I know the cold weather has alot to do with the unwillingness of wanting to exercise to. I am getting my strength back more and more every day and I feel really good. This process just takes time and time is what I have. Lets hang in there together, we'll make it, you just wait and see.
