OK friends. This is embarassing But I know in the huge pool of bariatric wisdom out there , someone will be able to answer this question: My stools are green. I am talking grass green. I have not eaten anything with green dye that I can recall. I am 5 weeks postop. I fear it is a gallbladder issue, although I have no pain in my gallbladder region. Any guesses?? Thanks, Nicole T.

I believe that is normal. Mine was that way for quite a few months after surgery. I believe it is bile. I don't think gall bladder since mine was taken at time of surgery. It's back to normal now so don' panic. I'm sure you will hear more knowledgable answers since I'm still within my 1st year.

I've seen this question posted before on the main board. I think it was the vitamins or iron or something like that.

Yep.....My pooies are green only when I drink something purple or blue. Whatcha been drinking??? If it is not from something your drinking and you aren't feeling sick or anything.....I wouldn't worry....They really can range in colors day to day, week to week! The only color to worry about really is black! Take Care Jesi

Oh thank you so much for posting this! I was just thinking today how I could delicately ask the same thing. Mine aren't grass green but a dark green. Before WLS it would happen if I ate foods that were really spicy, but I've cut back on that--even though I do still use spices. It is good to read that it is the case with others. (I am seven weeks out.) I wonder if it could be related to the dye in the vitamins? Sally
