I need some good quick advise. My surgery is scheduled for January 9th. I am a smoker and have not been able to quit. Do you think the surgeon will go ahead and do the surgery? I want the surgery so bad, too much stress in my life to be able to go ahead and quit. As I sit here and cry cause I do not know if I will be able to have it or not I am just asking for a bit of advice. Please help me I am desperate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No one can give that kind of advice. It's up to your doctor. Make sure you tell him. Smokers can have all sorts of complications. Lung problems, blood clots, etc. If you want this surgery, you better find a way to quit if your doctor tells you to. You better call tomorrow.
