Hello I am 6 weeks out and I still get the frothy spit and sick on meat. When does this end? I can eat smooth stuff with no problems. I can eat cheese. How long does that spit last? I lost 43 poumds and feel good. A little weak this AM but now I feel good. I am really having a hard time advancing my foods. THANKS Angel

Sorry Angel, I don't really have a great answer to your question. The frothy spit/vomit thing happens to me intermittently. I can eat something one day and the next I cant. So I just eat what I feel like eating because I never know from one day to the next what will work. I heard someone call this sicky feeling having a "grouchy pouchy". I love that term as it totally describes how I feel some days. So long story short, my advice is keep trying - I think it was about 8 weeks before the instances of sicky feeling started to trend down for me. Also- talk with you Dr or a nutritionist if you are discouraged. Hang in there, you are likely to start having less grouchy pouchy days very soon! - Nan

Angel, At 6 weeks, it's nothing unusual to not have good luck with meat. It's hard to digest & if you aren't very careful, you don't chew as much as necessary & it will irritate the pouch causing the froth. I had trouble with meat for many, many months. Just keep trying, eat only a couple bites until you know if it will be a problem that day & don't get discouraged. It eventually will no longer be a problem. It may take awhile. I still am not always happy with the way meat makes me feel but I've only had the froth once in the last year or so. Dixie

Almost 100% of the times I've , it's been meat. You are very early out. You need to make sure any meat is very, very moist. I ate a lot of tuna, ham, egg salads at that point. Anything I could put thru a food processor and add salad dressing of some sort. My doc said no red meat for the first 6 months. I did do pot roast fairly early with gravy and that went okay. I still don't do pork chops well. I've pretty much given up on them. Pork roast is okay but not chops. Who knows. Another thing, don't even think about leftovers. Most of us found out the hard way to not do leftover meats. First time around, usually okay. As a left over, especially early on, never worked and always revisited going the opposite way. UGH. I think the reheating dries it out a little too much.

Morning Angel Don't try to rush, but do try things out a little at a time. Not everyone is alike sometimes wish we were so we would have the right answers! Like Lyn if I put gravy over my meat it made it alot easier to digest. Early out I had alot of froth going, not even sure when it went away. Hugs Carolyn

43 lbs!!!! Thats awesome! I wish I had some advice on the meat, you know that I had the same problem... I would just try the meat again another time, maybe a week later and sometimes it would sit well and other times it wouldn't. How was your Christmas? Is your husband still home? Good Luck with the meat, Nancy

I would get the frothy spit when I didn't get all my water in for the day. I'm not sure if it is what you have but I would show my husband and he would said I was foaming at the mouth. LOL I would also get that when I would I places and walk and not take water. I don't get it anymore. I would drink more or dirnk something warm it would help me. Good job on the weight loss!!
