I too was alone for most of my stay....so I know how important those little calls can be I was in the hospital for 6 days and my hubby could only come a couple hours a day to visit! Long story short....surgery got bumped up and my mom couldn't change her vacation so we had no-one to babysit.....the drive was two hours each way, so hubby had some LONG DAYS..... But it all works out Like Janie said....You are in for an awesome journey....can be bumpy at times, but way worth it Take Care jesi
