Update & Thank you!

I visited with Linda again yesterday & she is still at Sartori. She did look much better than last week when I saw her. Her mother called this morning & said that they have decided that most of her problem is caused by her mind. They have tried every pain med & every medicine to keep her from feeling sick & nothing is helping & they can find no reason for her problems. She'll be speaking with a counsellor to help her get through this & hopefully find relief. I don't know about you but I have found in the past that if something makes me hurt I'll do everything I can to avoid it & have physically made myself sick even when there is nothing wrong. Apparently, after suffering from so much pain & discomfort for so long, that is what she is doing unconsciously. She'll be staying in the hospital until she is able to get enough fluids down. Now, the Thank you. Her mother told me that the volunteers said Linda was the "e-mail queen" as she has received so many nice notes of encouragement. Thank you. She does appreciate knowing that you are thinking of her. I told her Mom about the support group meeting on Monday & if Linda is still in the hospital she is planning to bring her down. Thank you Dixie for keep us updated on Linda's condition. I too have problems with my mind associated with my WLS. I am loosing to much weight because I can't eat much at a time. I eat often and am trying to overcome this. I know all the tools to use, its just the mind is so overpowering at times. So I hope she doesn't feel like she is alone with this. I don't think it is uncommon for our minds to have an adjusting period after surgery. Have a good week. Cindy G.
