All, Just checking in. I reached 6 weeks post op this week. I am feeling really good and other than some temporary illness that slowed me down last week! Anyway, I am feeling better now. I have really begun to crave fruits and veggies this wee****il now I have been eating protein almost exclusively so it feels good to be working some fruit and veggies back in. I try really hard to get almost all of my protein from food. I continue to struggle with protein every single day! Anyway, my biggest concern is slow weight loss. I can tell I am moving in the right direction but it seems my body is hesitant to let go of the weight. I need to get rid of my scale so that it does not get me down! I am plagued with fear that I am failing. Anyway, my goals this week are: 1. Get 60 grams of protein every single day without fail. 2. Keep my workout going and try to get to 2.5 miles during my walk by the end of the week. 3. Get cleared for more exercise at my appt and schedule my first appt with a personal trainer so I can take my workouts to the next level. Hope all of you are doing well- good luck with your goals this week! -Nan 264/233/140

Nan, It sounds like you are doing everything right so keep it up and the weight will continue to drop. You know some people loose slower than others. Don't get to discouraged this soon. Forget the scales I know that is hard to do but it is better in the long run if you only weigh at most once a week. It is such a surprise then when you get on the scale. Congratulations on all you have accomplished so far. You are doing great. I am almost 1 year out and still can't get my protien in with food only. I drink 2 protein shakes a day. Also you don't say how much water you get in a day but that is very important also. You might try increasing that if you think you are loosing to slowly. Just a thought maybe you already get enough. You have good goals so just add the water to it and have a good holiday season. Cindy G.
