surgery is supposed to be the 15th...

Yesterday I had my pre op History and Physical...everything seemed to be going as planned and on schedule...UNTIL today... I went to Grinnell for my pre op interview, met with the anesthesia, all went well... met with the nutritionist, all went well...met with surgery nurse, all went well... went for my chest X-RAY...all did NOT go well... whoever reads the x-ray seen a shadow in my left lung... now I have a CT scan tomorrow morning in Mason City... my guess is if they find something tomorrow, surgery for the 15th will be canceled... I will know more tomorrow night...

Cindy, Oh, you must be worried. Try not to dwell on it until you know what you are dealing with. If it helps, something very similar happened to me just before my surgery 2 years ago. Just 10 days before my date I had my ultrasound to show the health of my gallbladder but while looking at it they noticed a mass in my abdomen that shouldn't be there. A CT scan followed & eventually surgery to remove it & all my female organs. Fortunately the tumor turned out to be benign & I was able to have my WLS 13 weeks later. I was so mad that I had to wait but it actually worked out for the best. My health was much better once that tumor was removed & I know I healed better. It is very possible that this is nothing, just a shadow but even if it is, if you have to wait until they figure out what is going on, you will be in better condition after. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that you will be on your way without a delay. Dixie
