Hello My BIG day is November 15th. I am excited and nervous. I went to Des Moines yesterday to do all the preop testing and teaching on the blood thinner shot. Everything went well. A lot of my questions were answered and I feel good. A lot of emotions have been coming out. I lost 4 pounds! I want to try and lose another 4 before surgery. I will be able to go home the day before Thanksgiving (if no complications) which is good. I am so excited to lose weight! I love the feeling of waking up in the morning and knowing a few pounds are gone and feeling good about myself. I am so ready for it! Angel

Isn't it wonderful when everything starts to fall into place. You can have a whole new outlook on life. I am very happy for you. You are about to start a journey like no other. It is an up and down ride but remember we are all here for you no matter if it is up or down. I wish you the best in your surgery and recovery. Time will start to go fast now. If you have time get some of your holiday stuff done early, because the rush of Christmas really wore me out last year. I had my surgery on the 8th of Dec. and I was not having any pain but I was tired. But I wasn't very good at exercising either. Remember to do what your doc. says and to write down things that are important,(like how much water to drink & how much protien to get in) It is easy to forget exactly what they said because they tell you so much. Also one of my things was I didn't want to call and bother them with stupid questions all the time. But that is what they are for, and no question is stupid unless you don't ask. They really don't mind and their staff usually has time to find your answers for you if they don't already know the answer. Good luck and keep us posted as you can. You will be in all our prayers. How do you think the shots are going to go? That scares me! I'm Ok with them cutting me open and rearranging my innards, but the thought of giving myself a shot scares the heck out of me!!

Hi Cindy The shots are no big deal. You give them by on the side of your belly button and when you pinch the skin (do it hard I am a nurse and if you pinch hard you will not feel it). The needles are small. The shots will not be a big deal. Hope this helps Angel
