11 days away...
You may feel physically up to going for Thanksgiving. I don't know how far away it is for you to travel, and I don't know if you are having lap or open surgery, but the hard part will be to sit and watch everyone else eatting all that holiday food. I know that was what was hard for me at Christmas last year. But I did like talking and being around the family. So you will just have to see how you are emotionaly at that time. Good luck to you. Time will go faster the closer you get. It is a great experience to go through and one that I am glad I had the chance to do. I am almost 11 mos out and have hit my Drs. goal plus lost more. Just remember to do exactly what your Dr. tells you to do. That makes things much easier. Write them down because it is easy to forget if he said drink 40 oz water or 64 oz water and how much protien and when to take it. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and for heaven sake feel free to call your Dr. afterwards with any concerns or questions. Good luck Cindy
Thanks, Cindy. I did not even think about having to watch them eat and me not be able to. I was just thinking about how I would feel physically. I will have to think about that because it will probably make everyone feel uncomfortable and I would not want to do that. I am having open with maybe a feeding tube installed? Sounds like I am remodeling and I guess I am! It is about a 30 minute drive to my sister-in-law's house. We usually stay all day into the evening but if I do decide to go I think I will ask my husband to only stay for a few hours this year. Sounds like you are doing great! I will use your idea to write things down. I have already forgotten what the nutritionist told me about using double strength milk. I will have to ask again Monday when I have my last appointments. Thanks again for your great advice.
