Sartori... time period??
Hi all! After comparing different options and some great help from the board and family friends, I've decided to go with Sartori and Dr. Glas****
SO I'm going to my intro thing next Monday night (they're actually having one in Coralville... must be fate!!!)
How did everyone's timeline go?? We're not expecting much trouble from the insurer (never can tell though)... I'm just so excited!!
Hi Stacy,
Let's see... I went to a seminar in April and had surgery in September. I had to wait 30 days to be off of BC pills, or I could have had it done more quickly. I hope Leslie chimes in, because we were at the same seminar and I want to say she surgery at least 6 weeks before me...
Good luck!
Where is the seminar going to be in Coralville?
Amy
Dr Glas**** will have a Q&A period after the presentation on Monday. You can ask there & I imagine he can give you a pretty good idea. Last month I went along with a friend who usually speaks at his seminars. This one was in Des Moines & it was very informative. I think you'll be impressed and even more excited to get this process going.
The time from when I went to the seminar until I was supposed to have my surgery was 6 months but that was 2 years ago. It ended up being 9 months but only because I had to have another surgery at the last moment & had to wait 13 weeks before he could do the WLS.
A lot depends on how quickly you can get your testing completed, if there are any problems found during the tests, how quick the insurance company is to OK you, & how quickly they get their part done. Usually when everything is complete the surgery date is just 2-3 weeks later.
Good luck

I had my surgery on August 11th so it went really quickly but I was pretty aggressive in getting my tests done quickly and I kept on top of all of the doctors to get the results back quickly. I gave them a reasonable amount of time before I called but I made sure they weren't letting things lay on a desk somewhere. I probably could have had the surgery even sooner if I had not had to be on the C-Pap machine for a few weeks before they would do the surgery. Covenant is pretty good about getting things moving along....I think they don't want to hear from us so they pu**** I have been really lucky and can eat most things although I refuse to eat anything with real sugar in it or anything with a lot of fat because I don't want to be sick. I'm down 60.5 so far....yippee!! I am wearing the smallest pants I own so in the next few weeks, I'm going to have to hit Goodwill to get me through the winter or I'll be wearing 3 pairs of longjohns under my big pants.
Hope everyone had a great Halloween! We had a party. I made 4 pans of lasagna and about 6 gallons of spagetti sauce and meatballs. I actually enjoyed making all that food and not eating it. My husband took the leftovers to work today and said they were gone in 20 minutes. He doesn't want it sitting around or he will be finding all the weight I am losing.
