Plastic Surgery journey
I've had 2 consults now. One with Dr. Robbins at Heartland and one with Dr. Sundberg, my bariatric surgeon. I'm going with Dr. Sundberg. He will do the anchor. I just can't see how the transverse will take care of all the extra skin I have above my belly button and on my sides. I finally had a nasty rash! WooooHoooo! He documented it and then I saw my internist when what Dr. Sundberg recommended didn't work. So she documented it and was faxing her notes in to BC. They did pay for the first consult. That gives me hope that they are going to approve it. I wouldn't think they would pay for it if they weren't going to approve it. I hope! Keep your fingers crossed. I'll wait until after the first of the year to have it done. I have too many work obligations before the end of the year and people already have time off spoken for. Of course, if BC says it's approved but I have to have it done before the end of the year, work will just have to deal with it.
So everyone keep your fingers crossed for me!
I saw my dietician before I saw Dr. Sundberg just to make sure I'm doing things right. We decided I really don't need to lose anymore cuz if I do, my face would be too thin. I think after all the extra skin is gone, I'll be very happy with my weight and how I look. My mind is getting better at thinking I am a thin person, not a fat person. After all, an obese person doesn't wear a size 8 or 10. So I am definitely getting there.
