OK- I am admittedly a little frustrated. I am doing all of the things I am supposed to- walking every day, drinking 64 oz, taking my vitamins, and getting 60 oz of protein (hard as that is!!). Despite this, in 3 weeks I have lost a total of 12 lbs. Those 12 lbs were lost in the first week and a half- nothing since- not even a pound. Is this normal? My surgeon said I should expect to lose 25-30 lbs in the first month- has any one else experienced a plateau this early? Am I being too hard on myself? Or does this seem abnormal to others? Let me know. THanks! -Nan

It's totally normal to hit a plateau this early. I think your body is just going into a type of shock. Don't worry, keep doing what you are doing. One day you'll weigh yourself & will have dropped several pounds & it will start coming off again. You might try drinking even more water to try to jump start it. I know it is hard right now but try. Hi Nan, I stalled at exactly 2 weeks out. It was SO frustrating and it lasted for a full 2 weeks (I'm starting to hate 2 weeks! ) I kicked up my walking and kept making sure that I was doing everything right and the scale started moving again. The other thing that encouraged me at that time was to see how many inches were still coming off. I hadn't been weighing less, but I could fit in different clothing! Good luck! Amy 265/214/?
