Scope complete

Well, that wasn't something I'd want to do everyday, but really nothing to be concerned about. He didn't find an ulcer but did find a small hiatal hernia we didn't know I had & a polyp that he biopsied. I'll learn the results of the biopsy in 5 days. He sent me home with the written results of the scope & his findings, complete with 4 pictures. I asked him before the scope if he would let me know if the anastomosis (the opening out of the pouch) is stretched out. According to the report it is wide open but he never explained if that meant it was stretched or if it meant there was no stricture, which we didn't expect to see anyway. I'm hoping he means that it is open like normal. In the picture it looks good & smooth & pink as far as I can tell. I now have a perscription for Nexium in case there is an ulcer in the unused part of the stomach. There still is a good chance that it's adhesions and I am still thinking gall bladder even though the report came back negative. Dixie

Glad you didn't have an ulcer, or a visable one anyways! You poor thing...there has got to be nothing worse than unexplainable pain.....I hope they find something out soon. I will also be curious to here what they say about wide open? I hope your biopsy results come out fine...for some reason, some people are prone to polyps.....my family are all pretty good polyp makers, and they always end up beneign.....but they can cause a lot of discomfort! Well keep us updated, and I will keep ya in my thoughts Take Care jesi

Hi Dixie, I am glad your scope went good. I hope you can get your answer soon about your opening to the pouch. It is cool to see pictures of your insides. I am a nurse and it interests me! Angel
