Just wanted to let everyone know that I am alive~~ ~~ I had my surgery on Monday the 12 and all went well--except for the dumping of the ice water I went home on thurday and was feeling really crumbly I posted a message but was unable to get back onto the computer. I continued to get sicker and sicker. By Sunday night I was to the point where I about passed out so my hubby called the doctor and he took me back to Grinnell. I was admitted to the hospital for dehyderation. While in the hospital they figured out that I wasn't just dehyderated and that I had some ulcer like things inside my pouch. This is why I felt so bad and it was so hard just to eat a ice cube. They put me on carafate and protonics and now I am back home feeling like a million bucks. Still a little tender but I am completely off all pain medications. I am really focuing on drinking, drinking and more drinking. I feel so good! I know I have not lost much weight yet but just not worrying about the "surgery" anymore is quite a relief!!! I took my daughter for a small walk yesterday she was tired and so was I we walked a block. It is just going to take some time. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT!!! Jenny

I'm glad to hear that you are on the road to recovery. It is such a relief to have the surgery over and be back home in your own bed isn't it. Take good care of yourself and let the healing begin. Keep taking your vitamins, your protien and drinking that will help you the most. The weight will fall off faster than you realize. We are all pulling for you to recover quickly. Keep us posted. Congrats, Jennifer, on your surgery and welcome to the losing side of a wonderful journey! Glad to hear that things are finally going better for you. Like already said, concentrate on fluids, then protein and be sure to get plenty of rest. Hope that your recovery continues to go fast. God bless, Andrea
