First of all allow me to apologize for not being on here more. Between signing surgery support and anniversary pages plus reading a few post my time on the computer is taken up. However, I am going to do better. NOW FOR THE NEWS: I am getting the training from Obesity Help and will be starting a support group/chapter in the area. I need input if there are those interested in having a Northeast Iowa support group. We would meet initially in the Decorah area. I am willing to branch out and have more than one meeting in a certain area. Since I am unemployed I am open. I need to give and receive so I am open for those considering the surgery, pre approvals, post ops and grads. Please respond or e-mail me. [email protected] Sybil

Welcome back, Syb, I've been wondering about you. You gave us a bit of a scare awhile back. Good luck with the support group. I hope you're able to find a good group. I do know that Dr Glas**** has some patients in the Decorah area & it's too far for them to drive to Cedar Falls for support group so maybe they'll find you. It's really nice that you're willing to start it up & run it. Dixie

Dixie; Thank you. Still not over all the difficulties with the swallowing but am following up with my psychologist. I have an aversion to eating due to the pain it has caused me. The Cancer is a wait and watch game ---- every 3 months I have to visit the hematologist and be checked. Believe me I would have to admit that is no fun. NOW FOR THE SUPPORT GROUP. I wonder if I sent a letter to the Drs. in Cedar Falls that do surgery if they might refer their patients to my web page - yet to be set up but won't take long to get that up and running. What do you think. I have come to fully realize that everyone who has had WLS is Not a member of O.H. so finding ones on here by cities in Iowa is not the easy way to go. However, I will attempt anything to be successful at this and I need a support group something fierce. I really am even willing to have more than one support group. Take care and if you could help in facilitating this to happen for me with the patients from Dr. Glas**** who live in this area - please let me know. Sybil
