I'm BACK!!! Sorry Long Post

I'm Back!!! Sorry it has taken me so long to post,It has been a very long & hard road I have traveled...I had my WLS 8/3/05 It went fine but I started getting sick...I went down 8/5/05 for my leak test,They said I was still to swollen & I could take it again on Monday...I was sick all of Friday & by Saturday I had decided I was going to die...Come to find out I was allergic to the Demerol they had me on,So they took me off of it & I started to feel better...But then I was in so much pain & I was throwing up BIO I was sick all weekend...Monday 8/8/05 comes around & I go down for test again all day, Still nothing & I was sick all night again...Tuesday 8/9/05 comes & im down stairs all day testing again & they determain that I have HERNIA & BOWEL OBSTRUTION AURGggg is all I could say...So that means Surgery again tomorrow...So Wensday 8/10/05 comes as I sit in my room sick & in pain, all my family & friends gather around my trying not to let me see them crying or that they are so scared for me...I kept looking at the clock begging for my time to hurry & come I was in so much pain...Finally they come & get me at 3:30...My surgery was over at 8pm...I had to stay in the OR Room an extra 30 mins due to breathing trouble...They took me to ICU I was there for 6 days,I dont remember much...Dr Rogers saied he did a HERNIA & BOWEL OBSTRUTION he started the surgery out with Lap but then converted to open laproctony...Thursday 8/11/05 They had to put in a Pick Line due to my veins kept colapsing...I then got Pnewmonia...Sunday 8/14/05 Dr Rogers came in my room & checked my staples & noticed I had infection & puss so he opened me up,I have 2 open wounds 1 above my belly button & a bigger 1 below my belly button, I was like OMFG!!! What next...I started running fevers & my blood pressure & blood sugars were very high...Remind you I still have had no water & food at this point,I was sooooooo DRY!!!Finally Tuesday 8/16/05 I was moved to a regular room,PT comes in everyday & packes my 2 open wounds...Tuesday 8/16/05 I went & took my leak test...Wensday 8/17/05 I finally ge****er!!!!!!! It has been 14 days with nothing not even ice....I felt sooooooo good in my mouth & down my throat...I then ate later on that day...By the way My hubb Richard NEVER LEFT MY SIDE!!!!!! He was so AWSOME & this is a side I have never seen of him...Thursday 8/18/05 Dr Rogers comes in & said my blood work was ok & I could go home!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOooHOOOOOoooo...So I came home & with 2 open wounds...I have Home Health comes in the mornings & packs my wounds & DH Richard paks my wounds at Nights & on the weekends ((((Richard))) What would I do with out him...Things have been very slow at home so once again im sorry for not posting sooner!!!Thanks to everyone who called or came to see mee (((HUGZ))) Janelle

WOW....Thank goodness your alright now!!!! What a long road you had. Are you feeling good now?? YOur hubby sounds like a doll...he was probably scared silly! You don't need to be apologizing for not being around.....we totally understand!!!! How long do they think they will be needing to pack your wounds? Wow! I'm glad you're okay. What a rough road! I think you had almost everything happen to you that possibly could. Easy street from now on, right? Your husband sounds great, you are very lucky to have such a great support system around you. Take care and let us know how you're doing. Colleen
