Initial Consult yesterday in Grinnell

Hi everone! I had my consult yesterday with Dr. Kermode. What a nice guy! I really like him. He told me that most of my co-morbs will go away when I lose my weight. He then told me all of the problems that could arise. He has been doing this surgery since 1998 and does not do lap. (but thats ok). he told me his mortality rate which is really good. Anyway...I am a good candidate and they are sending my stuff in to Medicaid as soon as they get it transcribed (a couple of weeks). Now I just wait for my approval/denial. keep your fingers crossed! Hi Billie Jo! I bet you are really excited! During your wait just keep reading all that you can!!!!! My daughter was at the clinic yesterday around 9:00 meeting with Dr. Coster! Perhaps you were in the waiting room together? Her surgery is scheduled for September 26 and mine is October 5! Coming fast!! Lezlie

WOOHOOO.....your getting closer!!! I am wishing you well with a speedy approval Most if not all of my co-morbs went away with surgery. I will never be a "normal" weight per BMI charts.....because I am a big built kinda girl and I am only 5'2 .....but I feel normal, and my health is normal and thats what I was hoping for really!!!! I am having surgery with Coster on Monday the 12th. I am really excited and scared! Its been a crazy road for me! I really like Surgical Associates all of my experiences have been very good. GOOD LUCK to you. Jenny
