mmpi 2 test
A lot of psychologists administer this test. It is probably the most used personality test. It consists of around 400 questions that are answered either yes/no, or true/ false. I can't remember which. It is used to determine psychiatric conditions. It measures different things, hypochondriasis (concern over bodily functions & illnesses), depression, hysteria, psychopathic deviate (lack of morality or acceptance of authority), masculinity-femininity, schizophrenia, paranoia, psychasthenia ( obsessive/compulsive is included here), hypomania (excitable, nervous), and social introversion. It can tell if you try to fool the test or just answer randomly.
It sounds kind of scary but it's not bad. It asks questions, often the same one worded differently. The test is scored by computer & the psychologist I went to had me come back to get the results. She didn't say," you have psycopathic tendencies" or anything like that. Rather she read a description of my personality & it was very accurate. Actually, I had to interrupt her & tell her that she was describing my mother exactly. She just smiled. I had never realized that I was so much like my Mom. That surprised me. I loved my Mother but I don't want to be like her mentally.
I found it very interesting.
