Picnic in Cedar Falls Sunday

Here is a repeat of the picnic announcement for those who might have missed it last time. This picnic is open to anyone interested. You DO NOT have to be a patient of Dr Glas**** to attend. Directions to get to the park are at the bottom. Annual Potluck Picnic-Reunion The picnic will be August 21st at 12:30 p.m. at the Gateway Park in Cedar Falls, near the corner of First Street and Main Street. There will be signs for those who are not from Cedar Falls. It is a potluck lunch, so bring your favorite or unique 1 hot and 1 cold dish and your own drinks and place serving. There will be games and prizes. Talked to Lynn about the staff coming as well, and she said they will try. Hopefully Dr. Glas**** will be there as well! Please try to bring a before picture as it will be interesting to see how we all have changed. This picnic is for all pre-op & post-op WLS patients. Although we are considering the picnic a reunion of patients of the Minimally Invasive Surgical Weight Loss Center, you do not have to be a patient of Drs. Glas**** or Shah to come. I know we have some members here who had their surgery elsewhere. This picnic is for them too. This will be a great opportunity to catch up with old friends, make New Friends, share experiences, & ask questions. Hope to see you there!Please bring your whole family! We have kids games and prizes as well! Gateway park is very easy to find once you get to downtown Cedar Falls. It is located at the end of the Lincoln Street bridge just north of the corner of 1st Street & Main Street. Most people probably come into CF by way of highway 218 or 58. Just take the exit that leads to downtown. If you come in that way, you will cross the bridge. While on the bridge, look to the right & you will see the park. It's a small park. You cross the river & will come to the intersectioin of 1st & Main. Turn right or north (away from the business section) and cross that bridge. The park will be on the right side of the street. We have the shelter house. I heard this week that the bridge has been closed to traffic but the paper promised it would be open this week. It probably won't be necessary to bring two as there always is plenty to eat & well, you know how much we eat. Families are invited also so anything that goes well at picnics is good. Dixie

Shoot and tarnation!! I want to go so badly, but it isn't going to work. With church obligations, (I play piano and am the only music, ) I wouldn't get out of the house till 12 or 12:30. Then, hubby works third shift tonight and tomorrow night, so like to be home to cook for him tomorrow before he goes to work. Heck, with as tired as I've been lately, I wouldn't trust myself driving for 5 hours with the little ones in the truck. Maybe you all can get this way again sometime.
