Death in Waverly
I have heard that someone died a year out from a "pouch rupture" in Waverly. Does anyone have any information on this? My heart goes out to her family.
I have not heard of this a year out and now my husband is all worried all over again. If anyone has any information regarding this, please share. If you'd feel more comfortable e-mailing me directly instead of posting, my e-mail is [email protected]
Thank you all,
Jen

Jen,
There's a lot of speculation about this right now. No one seems to know anything for sure. If you read the the weightlosssurgery Yahoo group posting, we were told that the rumor is that it appears that someone who abused her pouch regularly by overeating may have died due to a rupture after a meal at a buffet. I don't know if this can physically happen or not. I have not heard of such a thing before but that doesn't mean it can't happen. I think we need to calm down & not let this scare us. If it is true, I imagine it will make the news sooner or later. The bad stuff always does.
I think also that we have to remember that if we are eating the way our doctors recommend, this will not happen to us. I have an idea that there is more to this than we will ever know.

I haven't heard anything about it......makes ya think tho.....I have never heard of anyone rupturing their pouch.....it might be able to happen early out when it isn't healed but not a year out.....the only other thing that I could think of is ulcer stuff.....an ulcer uncontrolled could make a whole in the pouch....and maybe food leaking where it shouldn't go could cause major infection and you could die from that??? Who knows? No matter it is sad when anyone dies....and I feel for the family. I too would like to know more if anyone finds anything out......what surgeons center was she from?
BY the way.....Miss Jen for four months out.....your weightloss is amazing.....doing....fabulous......get on here more and share your secrets.....whatcha eating and stuff.....plus you need to post a new pic soon.....I need to see the difference! Take Care

Hey there Jesi! I saw your pics from your surgery. Whoa momma! I am almost in the same boat. My skin feels flabby. I'm doing okay. I've lost 83 pounds with 40 to go. I think I overeat at night tho which is scary. I just can't kick that late night eating habit. I snack on stupid stuff too. But I have not eaten sugar or anything fried. I've cut all that crap out, as well as soda. I used to drink a 6 pack of Diet Mountain Dew a day!!! I drink one Diet Peach Snapple Tea in the morning and that's all the caffeine I have all day. I usually drink Light Lemonade or water the rest of the day.
I'm not feeling very good about myself right now though. I just feel I have so much more to go and I'm SO stuck! I've been a 180 for a little over 2 weeks! I gotta work out but cannot find any time right now that I can spare.
It's frustrating...I do need to post more, maybe that will help. Thanks Jesi! Big hugs,
Jen
I'm in the same boat, woman. Hit my first major plateau a couple weeks ago and feel stuck. Angie says it's because I'm putting on muscle because I started lifting weights and not to panic. I'm about 5 lbs away from 100 lbs lost (including the liquid fast) and can't wait to break that barrier. Sure wish my hair would stop falling out, but it is getting to be less and less.
How are you Slim? You need a new pic! Are you going to the picnic on Sunday? My friend Cindy and I are going and then going to Lost Island if you want to ride with.
Keep up the good work!
What up girl???? I have lost your number. Yes, I'm pathetic!!! I had to reinstall my Outlook on my PC and lost my folders where I kept everyone's info. So I'm blind again!
yes my plateau has sucked. I haven't been working out for the past couple of weeks though so I blame myself. I'm losing hair like no other too! Every morning after my shower I have to clean out my little hair catcher basket or I'm standing in a puddle! It's ridiculous. Thank god I have thick hair!! I could stand to lose more but it's a pain when you're washing or rinsing your hair.
I have lost 83 pounds. It's not bad but I can't wait to be closer to that 100 lb mark. I don't think I can make it to the picnic
I'm having some family issues right now and Sunday is usually family dinner. I just have to deal with some stuff. The water park up there is a blast though!!! We went a couple weeks ago...it was weird to not feel uncomfortable in a swim suit. I was actually okay! I just got tired real quick. I think I need to beef up my protein. Hey email me, k?
Hugs,
Jen
