Back at home and doing great!!
Hi All-
Just thought I would give you an update. I had open duodenal switch surgery with Dr. Anthone in Omaha last Wednesday. My hospital stay was relatively pleasant, and I was able to come home Sunday afternoon.
So far I have been pretty tired, so I nap often, but other than that I feel pretty great. Today I have eaten some mashed potatoes with protein powder added, a chocolate protein shake, and about 2 oz of cottage cheese. Not doing so well with the water, but I am trying. I had SO buy me a case of Isopure from the health food store, so that way I can get in my liquid AND protein!!
Anyway, that is about it for now.
Hugs,
Katie
7 days out and down 9 pounds!!!
Welcome home and glad to hear your doing good......Sometimes getting tha****er in can be a killer.....I really had no problems at first...I sipped all day long.....but now that I am farther out, I forget how truly important it really is. Try it really really cold.....sometimes it goes down better than way......also get some of those flavoring packets...those help too........I buy the walmart to-go ones (they are generic form of crystal light) I mix one little pack in a 32oz container and it is perfect....not to sweet or nothing......my faves are the fruit punch and the new orange delight or something.......and they are like $1.76 and you get like 10 of them or something so they are way cheap.....I too was way tired the first couple weeks.....takes a lot out of us......just remember to walk and drink......walk and drink....those two things are key!!! Take Care and congrats again Jesi
