Tuna
I go to Angie tomorrow for my 2 week post op. I am hoping I get to move onto the next phase in the diet.
Well any hoo I was looking at the foods on it. I like everything on it. ( or at this point will be grateful to have it, LOL).
But what on earth do you do with the Tuna? Just eat it dry?
Give me some ideas of what you did on the next phase. I see it lasts about a month.
Can you have fat free miracle whip? Can I make an egg and tuna salad? I can see mixing the Chicken in mashed potatoes. Give some ideas here ladies!!

Morning Shelli
Go to Tooter's site, she has the phase foods & I think you'll find it a great help. And she has recipes to go along with the foods. You will find her on the Main Message Board. Myself I ate dry at first then moved onto the mayo think it's whatever you are comfy with. Good luck to ya

Shelli,
I ate lots of eggs at first but I think tuna was my first meat (I know, I know, it's fish) & unlike Jesi, I was able to eat it fine. Like you, I couldn't imagine eating it dry so added some miracle whip, regualr actually as I figured a teaspoon or so of regular wouldn't hurt at all. Mixing egg with it would be delicious. I mix in shredded cheddar, even now, but can't remember if that is included in phase 2 or if you have to wait for phase 3.
I take both tuna salad & egg salad on a bed of lettuce & other veggies to work quite often for supper.
When I ate canned chicken I made a kind of gravy , using the broth from the can & a touch of cornstarch. The mashed potatoe idea is good. Just go easy on the potatoes as they will take up space & limit the amount of chicken you eat & the amount of protein you get from the chicken.
Dang, I just realized that you have probably left for CF & I will be able to tell you this in person. Can't wait to find out what Angie has to tell you at your appointment.

Jane told me to do this and it was wonderful - the whole 2 bites I could eat! I put tuna in the handy chopper plus and pureed it. I made a batch of Country Crock's mashed potatoes and spooned 2 spoonfuls into a bowl, added the tuna, salt, pepper and sprinkled with cheese. I mixed it all up and ate. I also ate a load of cottage cheese!!! I stayed away from jello (thanks to the 2 weeks of clears) and I couldn't handle much yogurt.
Remember....take it a bite at a time. And little bites at that!! I find it's helpful to actually chew the food a lot. It just digests better I think. Keep up your protein drinks too so you're not so tired. I wish I had one right now!!!!
Hugs,
Jen
