How long did you wait for surgeon during your consultation? I was sooooooo ticked off. My appointment was at 2:30, checked in and my support person needed to be there. My DH is a VERY busy person. His job is VERY demanding. He mad arragnements to be there with me. I do not like the front desk person. Lets just say she's not a very nice person. 30 min rolls around and we are still sitting in the lobby. No time did anyone come up to me and say hey Tracie, Dr. Cahalan is running late, he'll be with you shortly. No one did. I ask her after 40 min and she said there were no open rooms. Another 30 minutes passes and I finally get taken back to the nurse. She then informs me that he'll be another hour!!!! Dr Cahalan did not walk into our room until 4:40. I was sooooooo ticked. Apprently during the surgery eariler that day, they started doing Lap, but had problems and had to switch to open. Ok I feel better, but I am still quite ticked off that the front desk lady NEVER said a word! I feel so mad that I want to complain. But who would I complain to. It would have been fine if they at the very least told me he was running late, I hate just sitting there in the dark.

Ick- sorry you had such a long wait! My consultation is not until 8/12 but in light of your post I will definitely bring a book! I am not a very patient person so I would be likely to be TOTALLY annoyed with a 2+hour wait! Hope things are smoother from here on out! -Nan

Morning Tracie Didn't have that prob with my WLS surgeon but did with the one who did my carpal tunnel surgery. I went to the desk & told them THEY were on my time clock now I would submit THEM a bill for wages & babysitting! Gee guess what I got a room & saw the dr almost right away!!! When it comes to surgery that's uncontrolable as we know but the office person should have let you know. I would complain to the dr. Your time is just as valuable as the next person's. Sorry you went thru this. Hugs Carolyn

The place I had surgery also sucked for timelyness (not sure if thats a word ) I would just plan on being at my appts all day because I would never know when they would get me in.......plus my WLS office was a two hour drive each way so it made for some VERY long days Oh well, I guess now it was all worth the wait But I see were you would be angry.....the receptionist should have told you he was running late becuase of surgery.....that is just common courtesy!! Good luck with your upcoming appointments! Take Care Jesi
