Got a ?
It seems to be fairly common. Alot of us heavy folks, end up with BIG ole fatty livers.....which heals itself, shrinks with the weight-loss.....some surgeons do the biopsys during surgery just to make sure it is only fatty liver, and not something more! Tell us a little about yourself....are ya getting surgery?? This is a great place for support! Take Care jesi
Lisa,
Dr G does this routinely, just for the reason Jesi mentioned. It's nothing. You won't even know he did it. It's just a needle biopsy.
Hey, in a few weeks a large group of his present & future WLS patients are getting together for a potluck picnic along with anyone else who is interested & families, of course. We'd love to have you come too. It is on Aug 21 at 12:30 at Gateway Park in Cedar Falls. Please write me for details.
This is being planned by the Othersiders, an informal support group, not the "official' one at the hospital. The doctors & staff have been invited as guests. This is our third annual picnic & it sounds like we will have a pretty good turn out. It would be a great way for you to get answers to questions, advice & to just see & meet a lot of folks who have had a success with WLS.

Hi Lisa, we are going to be there together. My surgery is at 8 a.m. I, too, am dreading the two week clear liquid diet but I have made up lots of homemade broth and frozen it in ice cube trays so I will have small serving sizes. Let's keep in touch...I'm sure we will see each other at Sartori.
hugs, Leslie
