Hi Janelle, I am not on a clear liguid I can eat creamed soups and leslie must be able to also...she suggested that when she was cooking down some meat and vegi's drained off the clear broth (for when that part is needed right after surgery) then added more water cooked it down a lil more then pured it and ( the most awesome part) froze it in ice cube trays) how perfect ice cube size it is so now I have clear broth and some creamed soups that are homemade and more nutrional then canned...and in the right size ...so good luck our turns are getting closer hang in there I know we can do it!!! Lori august is around the corner now YIPPY!!!!

Dr Glas**** requires the 10 days of liquids & several of us had him for a surgeon,so maybe some of them will chime in with suggestions. I have a few, forget drinking canned broth. You will hate it very quickly. Instead buy any of the canned soups like Campbells chicken noodle, vegetable, etc, and strain out all the solids & heat that to drink. It is much more flavorful. Egg drop soup mixes are good, just don't add the egg. If you get hungry for something to chew on, eat finger jello. Jello is considered a clear liquid & finger jello is just more concentrated. Get an ice shaver (snow cone maker) WalMart has them cheap & Hawaiian Ice on the internet has really good ones. They ship quickly by the way, but maybe not quick enough, in your case. Make snow cones & slushes. You can chew the slushy part. Just use any liquid that your doctor allows with it. You can buy special syrups for the snow cones but I just discovered that Hawaiian Ice no longer sells sugar free. This was my savior both before & after the surgery. My pouch liked shaved ice but didn't like water much at first so I used my shaver a bunch. We weren't allowed cream soups as we had to only have clear liquids. Good luck. The first couple days are difficult but after that it's much easier. Just keep reminding yourself why you are dong it. You'll make it. Dixie

Janelle, I checked at WalMart today & they carry snow cone syrups and they are found right by the snow cone makers. I saw at least 2 that were sugar free. I bought cherry flavor & I saw raspberry also. They come in a 20 Oz bottle & cost less than $2.00. Not a bad price. Dixie

I filled up on Crystal Light. I would fill my water bottle up at work and add one of those little packets of Raspberry Ice Crystal Light. I was allowed one can of tomato soup a day. That hit the spot at night. I ate sugar free popsicles a lot too. I drank my orange juice in the am to get me going and then I had to chug my protein drink because it was horrible! I got the EAS Advantge Carb Control fruit based drinks. We're supposed to have two of those a day and it was gross! I learned to hate jello but it did fill your belly. This is the hardest part. You're belly is not ready to not feel hungry....of course. I think the only thing comparable was quiting smoking. That was super hard! I wish you the best of luck and if you have ANY questions, just ask!!! Hugs, Jen 263/190/130 3.5 months out
