BCBS of Illinois is driving me :mad:

All my paperwork was sent in and I have been waiting since July 1 to hear! Today, I finally hear this from BCBS - They haven't denied it yet, but they "think" they need more information. My PCP gave them all the info they originally asked for. My PCP even explained because of the amount of pain I live with I can't exercise and that makes it nearly impossible for me to lose weight on my own. I even have a letter of recommendation from my rheumatoid doc. I have a BMI of 46, severe sleep apnea, IBD, - I have more than one co-morbidity! I am just absolutely, completely frustrated right now. I just know how much better I can feel if I didn't have all this weight and I really want to be there!

Hey Pam: I also have BCBS of IL and they are really a pain to work with. I had 4 doctors letters of recommendation and they denied me twice and then denied by appeal. What they want is a 12 month documented physician supervised weight loss program. then there might be a waiting period after that alos. But I just gave up and going to self pay and go to Mexico. I am trying to get my surgery sceduled for August 15. Good luck and I will be thinking about you in your battle!! Jen
