hey Jesi We've been staying busy this summer too. Not only have I had all this medical testing going on but I had a friend here for 10 days over the 4th. She brought her 20 month old daughter and we had a blast. It was plenty hot enough to spend a lot of time in our backyard pool. They are from Los Angeles so they wanted to experience the country life. It was too funny trying to teach her daughter to play in mud. She didn't like it much but she loved riding our horse and taking rides on the tractor. Mostly she just liked being able to run all over and climb on everything. We even went up your way and took a ride on the paddle boat down the Mississippi. We stopped in Dyersville on the way home so she could see the "Field of Dreams" movie site. Of course, we saw lots of fireworks over the 4th. There are lots of people in the little towns around here that have good fireworks and we can see most of them from our house. Of course I had to do the last sleep study while they were here. Speaking of the sleep study I have had that CPAP machine for two days now. The first night I lasted about 4.5 hours before I had to take it off so I could get some good sleep. I called Covenant and asked them if there was any required time I had to use it and they said no but that I should use it as much as possible. Last night, I barely made it 2.5 hours because I wanted to sleep on my side and it just felt weird and kept me awake. I'm going to have to try harder because of course I have to send in that card once a week. I wonder if the insurance company cares how much I use it. Oh well....... It finally rained here.....YIPPEE!!!!! The grass was dead and we need lots of grass to keep these hungry horses fed. Let it rain!!!!! Hope everyone else is having a good summer... Leslie

Hello I'm still here. I have just been feeling :'), went to the doctor on Monday for a check up on my anti depressant, since I wasn't taking it for the last 2 weeks, because my chest would pound like I was having a panic attack, after I quit taking it, I felt a lot better. Now, the doctor put me on Prozac. I have heard many bad stories about Prozac, but thought I would give it a try. Also found out, I have lost 5 pounds within about a month or so. When my scales have been saying 220, for the last 4 months. I'm never hungry. I am still going to my counselor, but I don't think he's as understanding. He just tries to help out, but I'm not sure if he's the right person for me. But the county is paying for him, Polk county, (since at the time, I was living in Polk county), now I'm in Marshall county. I just don't know what to do anymore. I am sure glad we have this board. I don't want to vent anymore, I just need to get my feelings out. I just hope I don't scare anybody off. If I do, I apologize. Talked to my attorney yesterday, (trying to get insurance and my SSI disability) and he tells me he didn't know who he needed to talk to at the office, when he had all of my paperwork that had pleny of names on it, I thought I would be able to figure it out. I'm just frustrated. Well, body is telling me to eat something, but don't know what. Take Care everybody Lisa Young

I think it's slow here because everyone is so busy everywhere else!! I'm currently waiting on a dr.'s letter and then insurance approval on a breast reduction. If all goes okay I'm still going to wait to have this done until Sept or so. Our county fair is next week and since I'm involved with our race track I will be working Wed through Sun nites up there along with my "real" job. I do have Friday day off (I'll be sleeping)!! Took my 10 y/o son shopping to get an idea for school clothes. He's lost weight & gotten taller over the summer so I'm not buying anything yet. He will be playing in a tackle football league this fall and I've heard the boys all lose about 10 lbs from their practices!!! We're also going to the State Fair the 1st Fri in August. Last week I took a day off and we went to the water park in Waterloo (fun!!) and to the Allamakee County Fair (Waukon) to see a band up there. My son got his 1st airplane ride from a friend yesterday (a total surprise to him). He's having a good summer too. Where's Andrea??? I haven't seen her on here in ages!!! Everyone stay cool -- I mowed and trimmed outside last nite for 2.5 hrs (talk about a sweat hog)!!!! Janie

I have gotten nothing done this week but have been busy all the time. Most of my time has been spent on the phone with HP customer support. To date I have talked to support (in India, by the way) 9 times & my laptop is waiting for Fed Ex to pick it up to send it to be fixed for the 3rd time. I will NEVER buy another HP product. I am lost without my laptop & need it in working order for a retreat I am going to in early August. I am demonstrating digital scrapbooking at the retreat & can't do it without a computer. I am eagerly awaiting more plastic surgery on Aug 22. As I told and demonstrated to my manager, "He is going to fix this (slap the right hip area) and this (slap the left hip area), and lift this ( my butt.)" And then I promised to not send him photos this time. I did send him my TT surgery procedure photos & he opened the page just after eating. Big mistake. Glad he was in Madison & I was here in Waverly. Men are such a wussy bunch, aren't they? I am also eagerly anticipating our 3rd annual Othersiders picnic. This is what we call our local informal support group of WLS patients. I will post a separate e-mail about it here soon so other members who had or will be havng their surgery at Cedar Falls will know about it. Oh, I had an appointment with my new gynecologist. Actually had to see the nurse practitioner. I'm haing some tests run next week and may actually get to m eet the doctor eventually. She happens to be my WLS surgeon's Ex-wife. I have been kind of lucky as the heat is not bothering me this summer. I have only gotten sweaty a couple times while doing calf chores. Otherwise I am cool & dry, actually cold & dry. Course, I don't work outside much. That may make a difference. I have more trouble trying to stay warm. Right now I have on slacks, a short sleeved sweater, & a sweatshirt jacket & I'm still chilly. Probably will need a jacket before my shift at work is over. Better too cool than too warm though. Dixie
