Hi, we just had our first appointment to meet our surgeon in Grinnell. I have never heard of this doctor. Just wondering if anyone on here has heard of him or even more curious...has anyone had Dr. kermode do their surgery??

Hi Amy I just had my surgery in Grinnell on May 27th DR Coster did my surgery but 2 days later I had a leak and schwartz operated the second time but I also seen Kermode when other surgeons weren't there he seems good I liked him I was in ICU for 8 days so I actually dealt with all the surgeons I liked them all. I wish you luck on your new journey. Lavonda

Amy- I am having duodenal switch surgery in Omaha, but I did go see Dr. Kermode for a consultation as a "back-up" in the event that my insurance wouldn't cover DS. My impression of him was that he is a very competent surgeon, and lets face it, he learned from the best RNY doc out there (Coster). I would have no problems having surgery with him if I were having RNY. You are also more likely to have surgery sooner if you choose him, because Coster is booked out through the end of the year last I heard. Also, as a "Grinnellian", I have heard many good things about him from other people who live here. Hope this helps, and good luck!! Katie
