getting closer to a date!

Well I had my EGD scope. No displasia(thank goodness). Now just have to wait until I go back to see Dr. Coster July 19th for my surgery date. He wants to see the actual results from biopsies taken before he will schedule me. However I still have not been able to quit smoking. I think knowing that i have no displasia it will be a little easier to acheive. I am beginning to get very nervous about all of this. The surgery, after care, diet after the surgery, and all of the suplements after the surgery. This is all probably all old news to all post ops I'm sure. Any reassuring wishes will be gladly welcomed.

I'm not going to lie. I was not emotionally ready for surgery. I think I focused so much on getting the surgery actually done that I didn't look at the big picture. It is very hard to not eat when everyone around you does. Smells are great but you can't touch some things. You have to quit smoking! Yes, I know...I need to practice what I preach but I'm just trying to help. I should have stayed quit but I was too weak. You have to be really strong and stick to your guns. Kim have you gotten any nicotine patches yet??? You can quit!! Especially with a patch on!! IF you can make through the first three days, it gets much easier after that!! Good luck! Shelli
