Poll: How long to get approved?

Hey Iowa people...I have a question for you. I am wondering how long it took you to get approval from the day your paperwork was submitted, especially if you have Wellmark BCBS of Iowa. My paperwork was submitted on 6/16, which was only two weeks ago yesterday, but I am going nuts!!! I would just like to know how long I should expect to wait. Your help is greatly appreciated!!!! Mine took 8 days. I turned it on on a Thursday and it came back approved on the next Friday. I have BCBS Alliance Select...I think. Good luck! I'd actually give them a call to check your status. Never hurts to try! Hugs, Jen 263/199/130 my goal 3 months post op

I would call em too.....can't hurt thats for sure I had a totally different insurance all together but my approval was in like 4 days or soemthing......I think most insurances ave caps also....like they have to give you an answer in 30 days or something....so you don't have to wait months and months.....Let us know what you find out!! sending lots of good luck your way. jesi

Hi Katie! I have Blue Access and it was submitted on 6/20 I believe. I'll check the actual approval and see what date they have on it... Anyway, it was approved on the 28th. I called the 29th, and got my letter on the 30th. Oh, and the caseworker called me on the 30th yesterday. So they can be pretty quick! Good luck!

Hi again Katie - I double checked my letter and the "received" stamp on it says the 22nd. So it took 6 days for them to get it approved - again, good luck!
