Any good weekend plans???
Good Friday morning Iowa Folk!!! I am glad this week is over...it has ran me ragged
Not sure why, haven't been terribley busy....but still it has taken its toll......and I am kinda dealing with sinus issues, so I guess I feel a little more ragged! Got some good plans this holiday weekend??? Everyone be safe....drive the speed limit (70
) no drinking and driving
Unless it is crystal light
Just have fun and be safe.....no lighting yourselves on fire with fireworks!! I will be in my hometown.....we have a family reunion/memorial thing going on all weekend.....plus they have activities going on all day everyday...and bands at night.....For a little town, Charles City goes all out!!! So I am actually looking forward to it......On SAt night I am going out with some girlfriends from highschool....that too should be fun!!! I love running into friends from school, now that I look better!!! But I will miss my boards
My parents have a really slow dial-up and I am just WAY to impatient for that!!!!!!! So I hope everyone has a great one, remember to take care of yourself, and be safe!!! Take Care....see ya'll Tuesday
Jesi

Despite the torrential downpours, I had a pretty good & quiet week. Work, sleep, chores, mow, exercise, work, sleep......
Today I have to go into work early so get to come home early & then a 3 day weekend. The little town just north of us celebrates the 4th pretty big so I'll go there for awhile tomorrow for the garage sales, at least.
Tuesday I have an appointment with a plastic surgeon for a second opinion. I still haven't decided what I want to do next & know I won't be satisfied until the inner thighs look better, but then again, that flabby bottom & outer thighs just kind of wave in the wind also. That's what I am scheduled to have done in August. Hmmmm.... I wish I was rich & could afford multiple procedures but that isn't the case.
On Tuesday also I am meeting an old school friend for lunch. Although we have kept in contact with Christmas cards all these years, it's been probably 25 years since we have seen each other.
Jesi, I sent you an e-mail but wanted to include that I hope you have a good time at CC. Hope the rain (some local flooding in Cedar Falls on the Cedar but don't know about CC) won't affect any of the festivities & that you see lots of old school chums. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Everyone
I've been busy all week cleaning my house because I have a friend from CA coming to visit. I haven't seen her in almost 6 years and I haven't seen her 18 month old daughter yet so I'm really excited. She will be here for 10 days so hopefully it will keep me busy and I won't be stressing over when I'm going to get my surgery date. I don't know if I should call Covenant to see how things are going or not. While my friend is here, we are going to try and see some fireworks and maybe go to a local fair. Hopefully she will be feeling up to enjoying our great state of Iowa
She is coming in between chemo treatments (cancer is gone but they are trying to make sure that no bad cells went anywhere else) so she is not sure how she will be feeling. Plan B is to just lay around and enjoy the nice weekend, swim in our pool, and maybe take a horseback ride. Hope everyone has a great and safe 4th of July weekend!!!!!

Can you believe the summer is now "officially" half over??!!! We've been really busy too. Let's see tonite is laundry & cleaning, Sat is family golf outing in Waubeek (if you've never been - it's a really fun time), working races on Sat nite. Sun is family picnic in Shellsburg, Mon is parade and family get together in afternoon at Palo lake, and fireworks on Mon nite. Then we have races again on Wed nite. With both s/o and I working at race track and getting ready for the fair too it keeps us really busy. You would think I would forget about eating!!! Nope!!!
Hope everyone has a terrific 4th and remember to stay safe -- watch out for the crazy drivers.
I have an appt with p/s on the 12th -- checking into a breast reduction. Cross your fingers for me on my insurance. My PCP thinks it should go fine -- she said I've been through way more major surgery than that will be!!

It's so nice to be able to catch up on posts on this slow Friday afternoon at work!! I've been WAY busy at work the past 2 weeks. Although I'm salaried, the overtime would have been wonderful. Instead, I get a "Good job Jen" pat on the back. Lovely!
My little brother is home from LA until next Thursday. He is 25 and looks so good! I only get to see him twice a year so we have spent a lot of family time together the past few days. Went to the balloon glow last night and plan to have my dad's 52nd bday celebrated Sunday. Then of course, we're having a pool party on Monday. It should be an exciting, relaxing 3 day weekend. I finally broke the 200 mark this morning. Yep - I'm down to 199. I know, I know. It's only 199 but at 3 months post op, I'm pretty excited about it! My goal is 130. My dr's goal is 140 for me. I can't believe that I'm halfway there! I'm really tired lately though! Could be because of the heat huh?
Have a safe and relaxing 4th of July everyone!!
Hugs,
Jen

Hello
Not doing anything this weekend. Seems like we never do anything anymore. Except for catching up on sleep. Had my nieces today they are a handful. Then going to do my grandpa's laundry. He only has one load of laundry. He's going to be 94 July 22.
We have a new pastor at church (Bangor Liberty Friends). and a potluck afterwards.
I do have to get caught up with the gym. I'm being poor about going. Since I went on this tractor ride, I haven't gone in.
Mom is having lower back pain and can barely walk, she had another MRI done. But I know it is because of her weight. She was supposed to go into Physical Therapy, but (sorry, to say this, I do love her) she is too lazy, and depressed to do anything. All she does is yell at me (mostly) and dad get me this get me that. Well, we say, you need to get up and do the exercises. This has happened once before. I'm still having problems getting over her jealousy of me for loosing this weight and keeping it off. When she gained hers back plus more. She leaves the room whenever I come in to watch TV. So, I feel that I shouldn't come home anymore. I don't know. I have talked to her about it, but she denies that she is jealous of me.
Well, enough talking.
I gotta get some sleep.
Take Care
Love

We spent the weekend in your fine city of Dubuque. We met friends from Wisconsin there and did some of the touristy things - the aquarium, which is absolutely wonderful, the lock and dam, a carriage ride, the thingy that climbs the cliff? I didn't go. I don't like heights. We ate at a place on Main street called Bricktown. It was soooo goood! The BBQ ribs are to die for! Then today we went to Dyersville to the Fields of Dreams (in the rain), the Ertl Museum and outlet and then home thru the Amanas. I would highly recommend going to the River Museum and Aquarium if you are anywhere close to Dubuque.
Now I have to get serious about losing these last 10 pounds. My goal is by Aug 6, our 22nd anniversary. Might be close if I get with it.
Everyone have a safe and happy 4th!
