Hello

Hello everyone! I am going into have surgery on July 8th. WOW time has sure went by fast. I am going to borrow a suitcase from my mom Saturday. I think it will all start sinking in when I start to pack. If anyone has some spare time I could really use an angel. Thanks, Jenny

Congratulations on your date. I will be seeing Dr Coster for a follow up visit on July 11th. I met him for the first time at the support group meeting last Sat. He is really a great guy. I am sure you will be in good hands. I had my surgery in Mar with Dr Eibes but he has left the Grinnell practice and so I will see Coster until he gets going in DM if that's where he ends up. I'll check to see if you are still there but you will probably be gone then. GOOD LUCK!!

Hello! SO do you have any idea on what you are taking to the hospital? Have you went to the support group in grinnell? I am getting a bit nervous.

Hi Jennifer are you having your surgery in grinnell? I had mine with DR. Coster on May 27th and I had a second surgery on May 29th DR Schwartz did that one since he was on call. I stayed in ICU for 8 days then they moved me to second floor for 3 days then I came home for a week and ended up back in hosp for 11 more days my incision healed so nice but blood built up under it and it opened up and I got dehydrated I get nauseated when I drink. They ran tests on me and kept me in hospital now I am home on medicine for nausea it works great I eat very little and I dont get alot of my fluids in but I am working on it. I have a machine which is called a vac its on my incision where it opened and it works great it keeps it together so no pain there. It's taking time for me to heal and thats because of me having a second surgery they say it will take time. I have lost 31 pounds in 2 and a half weeks. As for the hospital I only took change of clothes chap stick my own shampoo and soap but they have real shampoo in the shower room and conditioner if your going to grinnell. They gave me a crossword puzzle book the second time I was there but my first time there I slept walked with help from therapist but my angel had her surgery on Friday and I was still in hospital so I would go visit her she was on second floor I was on the first we would play cards together at night my angel did so great she was up walking alot and drinking like nothing I am so proud of her. I didn't think I would get nervouse when I went in for surgery but after they got me ready I was so sick to my stomach if that happens ask them to please give you something to calm you because it made me relax like sleep it helped. If you are having surgery in Grinnell I will be your angel and go visit you and post on here if you are up to meeting me and a visit. So let me know ok. You will do fine dont get scared with my experience my leak was from a bleed I had during surgery something I dont wish on anyone but I was one of those people that it happened to it doesnt happen to all my angel is doing great I'm jealouse lol no I am so happy for her. So let me know if your having it there and I will be there to see you and post and talk to you will be nice. I didnt take much to hospital I used there gowns when you feel yucky you dont really care I slept didnt even watch much tv but everyone recovers differently. keep in touch let me know ok. one great thing I never felt any pain where my incision was it was like I was never cut there I just had pain on my left side so I got pretty lucky there. I hurt worse after my second surgery because they put 2 drains on my left side and a g-tube on my right those hurt me there out now finally. Lavonda

Hey Jenny.....welcome and CONGRATS!!! Hey I have know idea where Colfax is....cause I am directionally challeneged....but I would love to be your angel.....if you can look past the horns .. I have never been an official angel before!!! Let me know if ya want me to and we can exchange numbers and stuff!!! Hey Jenn.. .Kinda late on the post but just wanted to say hi!! so.. Hi!! Lavonda and I are planning on coming up and seeing you either saturday or sunday!!! Isn't my angelette just awesomeous!!! I'm so proud of her for pulling through all this.. You'll do awesome. I did take a pair of sleep pants just because I don't like my arse hangin out!! But they were so awesome to have they didn't touch my incision and i could rangle around the bed and not worry about showin God n everyone everything!!! You're gonna do fantabulous!!
