Help

Help! I was denied for the RNY surgery because I did not have One-year doctor supervised diet under my planner. I have been on Weigh****chers for a year, and many others. The only problem is I did not keep documentation of my diets. Please, any advice would help!!!

Hi Stephanie, How long has it been since you have been on WW? They usually keep some sort of record for a while. I would check back with your WW Leader to see if they still have it. Billie Jo

I was also denied due to one-year doctor supervised diet even tho I did ww and others all my life. I had all my paper work for all my diets and they still denied due to this. Go to www.obesitylaw.com and they can help you fight this if you want. It is kind of spendy to fight it. I decided instead of spending more money fighting, I was going to pay on my own. My ins co told me I had to have the 1 year supervised diet and then wait another year to have it done. It is very upsetting and frustrating when this happened to me. I don't think the ins co get it. I appealed 2 times and got denied. So I decided to pay on my own. If you are going to fight it, make sure you find out how many times you can appeal this. If your doctors office appeals and then you go to obesity law and they want to appeal, make sure you can appeal it twice. They were really up front and answered all my questions at this site. They are in CA.
