Something to be thankful for!

I'm sitting here at my computer taking a break from painting my sons room thinking of all the people who have waited and are waiting forever to get approval or waiting for someone somewhere who has their paperwork to get on the ball. I'm so very thankful for this site, for all the wonderful people I've learned so much from, for the life God has given me, for the life He's about to give me in 7 days, for my children, my parents, who don't recommend this surgery but are supporting me so I can be a healthier mommy, for my wonderful hubby who I couldn't have done this without his support 100%, for all my friends who have offered to help me in any way they can and for the freedom to do for ourselves what we feel we need to do to be healthier people. The list can go on and on as I know mose of our lists can. Most of all I appreciate the quickness in getting approved and getting a quick surgery date as opposed to some who I've read have waited for much longer. To those of you who are still waiting, be strong and courageous for your time will soon come. I'm hormonal this week hoping to get my 'friend' out of the way before next Friday but knowing my luck I won't! I guess I just needed to share that little thought I had. I will wipe away my tears now and go back to painting which I absolutely detest and listen to the ever so talented Barry Manilow (did I just give away my age??) If you'd like to share anything that you are thankful for please feel free. I know this isn't anywhere close to being around Thanksgiving time but I guess I don't feel it needs to be Thanksgiving for me to be thankful for the things in my life even the mistakes I've made. Thank you for letting me share.. Tracie S.. 7 days n counting.. and a bundle of nerves!!

Take plenty of pads with you to the hosp. because it is not at all unusual for the trauma of the surgery to throw you into your period a day or two after surgery. Believe me, it is not fun. jean

I go thru spurts of being thankful....... sometimes I am super thankful for everything and when I am down in the dumps, well not so much!!! I remember being in your shoes......so excited, thankful, scared, everything rolled up into a crazy bunch of nerves......You will be fine we are all here praying for ya......Yeah....I wouldn't worry about getting your period.....I had mine going into surgery....and it comes back with a vengence.....I took all my own pads, but to tell ya the truth, I preferred the hospitals big ole mattress sized pads......I was sore and miserable and I was 300lbs and you know how easy it is adjusting those stupid little pads.........so I was more than happy to wear the mega ones and not have to worry about it!!!! Take Care....you will do fine! Do you have an angel...or someone who is gonna call and ya and then give us all an update??? Take Care Jesi
