I've been having trouble with Mercy Capitol and the packet they wanted filled out. We are going on 3 weeks since I've mailed it. Still no call. I called them last friday and they said I could bring a copy by (never send anything out without making a copy first) so I brought it to them Monday. Of course they were closed....just my luck. Still no call yesterday. No call today, so I called, got the usually attitude from the front desk lady, and she did confirm my packet has been recieved. Now she said a nurse has to review it then they will call. I'm sure this is going to take another 3 weeks. My dr's office is waiting on them. Heck the refferal nurse who works for my doc has called down and talked to them already. You'd think they'd push my paperwork. I'm getting a little frustrated. I'm not looking to have surgery tomorrow, but I just want to have the feeling that the ball is rolling, and that my insurance has been notified.

First step they got your papers. Thats great. It won't be 3 weeks. They will call you soon and set up your phone interview. Think positve!!! It will happen.

Morning Tracie "Weighting" is the hardest part of all of this I think! At least they have the paper work in hand so that's a good sign. And you are right make copies of EVERYTHING or save to the computer. Good luck & keep us posted. Keeping you in my thoughts & prayers. Hugs Carolyn

Tracie, Don't expect them to be sending in for insurance approval any time soon, no matter when they got your packet. You have to jump through all the pre-op crap before they will even consider sending it in for approval and honey, that is going to be MONTHS from now. Mine took two months, but that is because I PUSHED them hard and called weekly to make sure all the balls were in the air. But I think they usually say to count on it being six months from the time they get your info packet until the day you have your surgery. So you may as well sit back and relax, because other than keeping on top of the tests and stuff, there is nothing else you can do. jean
