Hi guys, I don't frequent the board like I used to. Seems like all I do when I posted was complain and I hate being such a downer on everybody. So I just keep quiet most of the time now. But I did want to share that I have crossed that 100 pound threshold finally. I will be six months post op on the 20th. I have about 25 more pounds to lose to be at goal weight. I'm still not eating much and I still have a lot of regrets. Of course the weight loss is wonderful, but I didn't do this to feel like crap all the time, and frankly, that is how I feel -- like crap. I throw up almost daily, and I don't have the energy that I think I should for someone who has lost this much weight, etc. I don't even want to go to the support group meetings, because I get sick of hearing how great everybody is doing all the time -- except for me. My husband forces me to go basically, because it was part of the agreement (to attend the meetings). It's not like I don't want to be sucessful, you know? I told you I am a whiner, didn't I? I really did not expect this outcome. I can barely eat anything. I have absolutely NO appetite and everything seems disgusting to me. I have to literally force myself to eat anything. Because if I don't, that mucous in my stomach starts building up and yup, I up-chuck even more. SIGH. Just wanted to share that I have lost 100 pounds now and that does make me happy. jean

Congrats on the 100 pounds You should not feel bad about coming here to "whine" we are here to support you no matter what!!! I am sure I would be whining to if I had some of your problems! Has your surgeons offered any solutions to the constant puking? Sounds like maybe you have a stricture or something.....usually after a little dialating, people feel much better......I would ask them to check ya! Another thing I am relatively young (27) and I never got that major burst of energy I waited and waited, but it never came!!! Granted I do tons more...but I am still tired a lot and in need of some R&R!! Just make sure you are getting in lots of fluids.......and some protein too!! If you ever need anything.....someone to listen to you whine or give ya ideas.....come on here, or email me.....but we are all here to listen and give ideas!!! Congrats again.....and I will send well wishes your way, so hopefully you start to feel better I would seriously talk to your surgeon about checking for a stricture or something!!! Take Care and Good Luck Jesi

I'm sorry to hear that you've had troubles. One question I have is if you had it to do all over, would you have the surgery?

Jean, Go ahead & whine. I think you have earned the right to do it. BUT....do something about your problems. You said " I can barely eat anything. I have absolutely NO appetite and everything seems disgusting to me. I have to literally force myself to eat anything. Because if I don't, that mucous in my stomach starts building up and yup, I up-chuck" I scanned your profile & nowhere do I see that you went to your surgeon about this problem. Maybe I missed it. You've tried to figure it out yourself. That was good but obviously it wasn't what you thought. Like Jesi said, you are describing classic symptoms of a stricture & they can be fixed easily. It is preventing the food from leaving your stomach at the rate it should. It's no wonder that you never feel hungry. You still have food in it. That explains the mucous buildup also. Talk to your surgeon. Don't wait until the 22nd and your scheduled appointment. Do it now! Call them & let them know what is happeing. They can arrange for you to have a scope where they look to see what is going on & can easily stretch out the stoma. A stricture is simply a buildup of scar tissue that is making the stoma too small. It happens all the time & once it's fixed the person feels much better, can eat easier, vomiting stops, & strength & well being returns. Now, to be honest, if you don't call him, if you insist on waiting until your scheduled appointment, and continue whining about it, that's when I stop feeling sorry. Those doctors are just a phone call away. You don't need to be feeling this way. Good luck & I'll pray for you. Dixie

Dixie, I really do not appreciate this kind of response. THIS is exactly why i do not come to the boards more often to discuss my problems. You assume that I have not gone to the dr. over this issue and my friend, you are wrong. I have been there, and been there and called and called. So don't tell me I am doing nothing to get a handle on this. please think before you write, because your answers are sometimes very hurtful. You don't know me. All you know about me is what you have read on my profile. Going back to hiding mode now......I'm sorry i even posted. jean

Jean, I'm sorry if you took offense at my answer but did you ever mention that you talked to the doctor? I don't think so & in my opinion, when there is something wrong, the first thing to do is check with the doctor. I honestly hope you find out what is wrong & since you have asked the doctor, I'd say it's his responsibility to find out why you are feeling the way you are feeling. Again, good luck, Dixie

Morning Jean 100 lbs?!!!! Congrats! I've gotten to be quite a whiner here lately, past few weeks have been sooooo stressful. Sorry to hear about your problems, it doesn't sound right to be losing your food all the time. Was this your surgeon you've talked to or regular PC? Our surgeon put us on anacid right after surgery & that seems to have helped can tell you always can tell when I haven't taken one. Off the subject a little here, thanks for writing about the fibro. I got a message from Janet & she said that calcium citrate bothered her fibro & I'm also taking that. Will try going off of that to see if it helps, she said it's helped her. I agree the humid wet weather seems to have bothered alot more, but it's funny when I've been to Florida it seems to disappear! Can't figure that out. Not sure why this has flared so bad unless it's due to the weather I was doing pretty good for so long, sure had pain but nothing like this. Keep posting am here for you anytime Hugs Carolyn
