Consultation today!!

Went to my consultation with Dr. Anthone today. I think it went really well. My devoted fiance Corey came with me to learn more about the surgery. Dr. Anthone said that I am an excellent candidate for surgery, and he didn't think my sleep apnea would be a problem. He isn't even requiring me to do a sleep study even though I am technically undiagnosed. Yay!! And he thinks that getting approval for me will not be a problem, even with the DS exclusion in my insurance policy!! What a relief it was to hear that! I am still not going to get my hopes to high though. I am just going to assume that I will have to appeal so that I am not dissappointed if it happens. He said that if everything goes according to plan, I should be approved within 6-8 weeks. That was kind of discouraging, but what can you do? I just need to be patient. So I guess I will be looking at an August or September surgery date, which is not as soon as I had hoped, but I will have to accept it. Now I just need to concentrate on getting all of my pre-op testing arranged and quit smoking within the next month. Easier said than done!! Katie Anxiously awaiting approval!!!!

Actually.....having your consult and then surgery within 3 months is quick!!! You might think it is slow.....but that is really good actually!! A lot of folks myself included it takes a lot longer!!! Be patient....time will fly for ya!!! Take Care and keep us updated!! Jesi
