Good morning, Just wanted to post a roll call to see who is here. I see that this board has been a little slow. Thanks to those of you that are keeping us updated about recent surgeries. How did your holiday weekend go? I had a blast camping out at my sister's house in Illinois - about 90 miles away. Just slept in my camper and used her house for everything else. (Took the camper for nastalgia's sake - always have to camp on Memorial weekend!) Anyway, a couple of things that I noted this weekend - I was able to set up the camper myself - a pop-up - with no help from anyone! Couldn't, or wouldn't have done that before. Also, I danced my pattootie off at my cousin's wedding reception this weekend. I had on some spandex workout shorts under my dress, so was absolutely uninhibited and didn't feel like all I was doing was shaking all this loose skin!! I had a blast!! Now, back to the grindstone with work and eating. I didn't do terribly, but did snack too much - mostly pretzels and cheese sticks. Goals are to work on better eating, more fruits and veggies, less snacking, especially at night! How was your weekend and do you have goals for the week? Let's hear from you all now! God bless Andrea

Hello! I moved this weekend so I didn't get to go camping like I usually do. I will have to make up for that one. I love camping! I still haven't heard from the surgeon's office. I received my approval letter last week so hopefully they have theirs soon. Goals = Watch what I eat more closely and get some exercise in. It would be nice if I could lose a few pounds before the surgery. I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday! Have a great day! Tina

Hi Tina! Thanks for stopping in to say hello today. Hey, we're neighbors now because I live just north of Davenport. Sure hope your move wasn't too traumatic - I hate to move!!! I saw that you are going through Trinity. I have a few friends that went through that program. I myself went through the new Genesis Center for Bariatric Surgery in Davenport. They are wonderful and just began doing the surgery laprascopically. The follow-up is phenomenal! I still see the dietician and psychologist even this far out after surgery, (by choice, of course). Well, welcome to Davenport and hope that you have a good week. God bless, Andrea P.S. Congrats on the surgery approval!

Hi All, I'm new to this board and I'm enjoying it very much. I have found some very useful information and it's great to hear other people face the same issues and that I'm not alone in this journey.

I moved this weekend too. I hate moving!!! But it is done now. My goal this week and for the next 25 days is to wear my CPAP. I have to wear it for 30 nights and for at least 4 hours a night before I can be released for surgery. 5 down 25 to go. That is the last thing I have to do before I get a surgery date. So I will wear it everynight!!! Hope to have surgery in July!

Hey Andrea, camping sounds great, we had family over for the holidays to cook out. I did fine except once again tried to eat chicken no more than 3 bites of a leg and in the house sick. You would think being 1 yr and 4 months out that I would be able to eat chicken. Only thing I can eat are pizza toppings, ground hamburger, shrip. No tuna or chicken. I've been living on cheese sticks and peanut butter and banana sandwhiches. Then I get so hungry I snack. I've been doing better with fluids but still have a long way to go. Weight is still stuck since last November. I had a really big blow to my ego, I was at the grocery store with my son, ran into one of the women from my support group who looks awesome skinny, her daugher and sister were there and when they heard I had surgery they looked at me like YOU DID and when I was asked how much I lost and when I said 110 they though really. So after that I was like what the H***. Chocolate here I come. Anyways goals are to not be so hard on myself, push the fluids, and exercise. Good luck to everyone and happy end of school year!!!!

Oh, Leslea, I'm sorry that you had to experience that. Some people are just so cruel! But...................it wasn't a really good idea to eat the chocolate, right? Keep doing the best that you can! God bless, Andrea

Hello Not much going here. I did go out today with my dad, (while he was driving the Caterpillar and me with the Jeep wrangler), to burn a pile of trees and fix fence. He tells me to follow him, so I did. What do ya know. I get stuck. He didn't think to put it in 4 -wheel drive, but as soon as I did, I got right out. Boy, I was a little scared though. Now, we keep smelling smoke, so Dad just went back out to check. It's about a mile from the house. But we did leave the Caterpillar there so if he had to he could push dirt against it. Goals: Eat more protein, and drink more water. Get to the Gym. Keep looking for jobs. And walk more. I didn't do anything exciting this weekend. I wish I did. Take Care Lisa Young
