Insurance problem

I found out today that for some reason I have a waiting period with BC/BS. I won't be having the surgery as soon as I would like. They say not until 5/01/06 whe the 18 month waiting period has ended. I will be looking into why I have a waiting period. I hope it is just a mistake. I guess I will just have to wait and see. Thanks to everyone for all of your support. ~Shea

Shea, I'm sorry to hear about you having a waiting period. I'm pretty sure I don't have one but I guess we never know what kind of curve they are going to throw us. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it is a mistake. take care, Leslie

Did you have a lapse in insurance coverage? If so, they are considering your weight to be a pre-existing condition; therefore, the 18-month waiting period. So sorry to hear that you are going through this. ~~Sherry E.D.D. of Child #2~~11/11/05

Sorry to hear that you have a waiting period. Stay positive and it'll fly right by. I too am waiting awhile to have my surgery, till after 2/22/06 when my short term disability kicks in.

Hopefully it is all a big mistake/understanding or something. I have never heard of an 18 month insurance waiting period I will say a few extra prayers for ya!!! The BTC or Barix or whatever are pretty thorough, I wouldn't think they would give you a date unless you were approved for sure.....hopefully it all works itself out. I almost went with Dr. Boe with the BTC.....Keep us updated Take Care Jesi
