Good morning everyone. So sorry that I didn't post this last week - I was home ill. But, I'm here now !! How have you been doing this past couple of weeks with eating and healthy lifestyles? I have been doing okay until the past several days - (that dreaded PMS again!) I hate not having control over foods. Then, Saturday, I forgot that we don't absorb fats well and snacked all day on chips and fried foods. It wasn't like they were at my house, it was a get-together with my cousins and a bridal shower. We had a luncheon with a Mexican theme so we all brought something for it - chips, taco dip, quesadillas, taquitoes, etc. Needless to say, I had bowel issues that night and thought that I had the flu. Thank goodness, things were better yesterday! Well, my goals this week are simple: 1) Keep control over foods - if I can't, eat healthy and little amounts. 2) Survive the busy week. 3) Get prepared for son's graduation party. 4) Get curtains hung in my new kitchen. Now, how about you, do you have goals this week? Question of the week, if you are a mother, did your family do anything special for you yesterday? If you're not a mother, what did you do for yours? I got flowers and a card from hubby, a card and handmade bracelet from my daughter and youngest son, flowers and a fishing trip from my teenager. All in all, I feel quite spoiled. Oh, and my teen cleaned my kitchen for me yesterday - who woulda thought????? Well, need to get working. Have a great week everyone! God bless, Andrea

I did okay....the last couple days were pretty bad....with the treats for mothers day and just plain being lazy I did eat more than I normally do.....But I am gonna get on track today....so far so good anyways!! Is support group next Wednesday? I have faith you will get everything done in time for Dannys big day....if you need any help just give me a call!! Sounds like your family did spoil you!!! I did okay too.....Jason had already did some major landscaping for me last weekend (early gift) but he still treated me and my mom to Bingo Sat night and took the whole family to a Mothers Day Buffet at one of our fave restuarants. And I of course woke up to homemade cards....and even got to go to menards and pick out more flowers/bushes after the breakfast......All in all a great weekend!!!! I got myself some new vitamins too......I wanna order some more protein powder and add those back to my days more.....how did you like the new ones you got?? Talk to you later! Jesi, Hey - it was nice to talk to you last night. I'm glad that you are getting back on track and that you had a nice mother's day. Did you win anything at Bingo? I need a night out sometime - but probably will wait till the end of the school year. Oh, on the protein powder, do you like green apple? I have a new Chocolate, so don't need much, but if you wanted to share a tub of green apple, I'd be willing to do that. Well, let's plan to go to the support group meeting next week and then I'll plan on seeing you on the 22nd. Happy birthday early, by the way............. God bless, Andrea

Glad to hear you're feeling better this week and you made out pretty good on Mother's Day, didn't you? My week was not very good. I finally made it to 179 early in the week but it bounced back to 183 over the weekend. I don't understand that. I can't even blame it on PMS & I didn't eat very bad. Eventually it will get down there but I find this up & down thing very frustrating especially since it goes up so much easier than it goes down.. My goals are to just keep on trying to do what I'm supposed to do & not stray. I'm still going to aquacize 5 days a week, but ocassionally sleep in. I'm not getting enough sleep. I don't get home from wor****il 1AM & probably don't get to bed until 2 or so & get up to go to exercise by 7. Even when I don't go I'm awake by 7:30. I just can't sleep longer. I went to the doctor to see if my thyroid was a problem as I also have several other symptons of an underactive thyroid but the blood tests came back normal. My iron is OK & I don't have any infections in my system. The doctor did take me off a medicine I was taking for an overactive bladder as it could be causing some of my problems so now I have to choose whether I want to be awake or wet. Gonna go back on my hormones. Maybe that will help. My husband's family never celebrated Mother's Day so we don't either and I hate Mother's day anyway since both Mom & Dad died within a week of Mother's day (different years) & last year a good friend called on Mothers Day to tell me she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. She didn't survive 3 months. Ben & his wife gave me a huge card (over 2 feet tall!) & I saw all 3 boys so it was nice enough. Kerensa is struggling with morning sickness all day long so she stayed home. Had to laugh when she called to have Ben go to the grocery store to get her jello. Poor baby. Hope the morning sickness doesn't last long. Dixie

Morning! Mexican did you say Mexican?! YUMMY! Since surgery I love the stuff! Who says taste buds don't change? The bar where I work has Monday night Mexican & for the past 3 weeks dad has taken us there to eat. Trouble is she has such big servings it takes a week to eat a soft shell, no I'm not kidding. Thankfully Katie helps me out or it would be a waste. Like Dixie I've had a heck of a time bouncing from 172 back to 175 this past week, not sure what is going on. I bought some protein drink so hopefully that will help & trying to push more water. Goals for the week: Drink drink drink tha****er Walk more Ride bike more Mother's Day was quiet around here I went shopping, Katie was with Loren, & the boys had to go to the "outlaws". We will get together this Sunday. Katie gave me a beautiful locket with a pink rose & Mom engraved in it. I'm not into Mother's Day much, missing my mom horribly this year. Everyone have a good week! Hugs Carolyn

Hello Well, I did it! I walked my very first mile today. Can't believe it, my feet hurt a little bit, but hey it's worth it I think. I got my apartment organized, and I rearranged my furniture in the living room. I stayed up all night long for the last 5 nights. Playing Playstation, with my friends. Playing Nascar, and Demolition Derby, one game called Test Drive Eve of Destruction, where you shoot birds out of your car. It was cool. I think I'm hooked on it again and a kid again. I came down with Food Poisoning on Friday. I couldn't eat anything for a day and a half. I tried, but everytime I drank water or ate something, I would just get sick. I'm starting to feel better. But for a while, I thought I was dying, it hurt so bad. Goals: Keep going to the Y Keep my place looking nice Walk some more Drink more water I wish I could be a better daughter. Mother's Day, I think was horrible. My mom cried half of the day, because Dad and I forgot cards, flowers, and everything. (I think that's why she was crying) because my brother and his wife had gotten her some flowers and some other things. I told Dad she was crying because we didn't get her anything. Dad then went and told her that she could go down to her favorite greenhouse (Swift's in Laurel) to pick what she wanted. And I told her I would give her back rubs. I feel so bad. Also, Mom was looking at this horse she wanted to get and told me about it first before telling dad, and was so excited about it, when she told Dad, he just went at her saying that he would be the one feeding the horse and fixing fence. Besides, mom's health isn't doing too good. She's in a lot of pain. But she thinks she could work things out. Then, this weekend, she told us that she probably couldn't do it with her pain and that dad was right. I just wish she would be happy and get over her pain. Enough of that. I've lost more weight. I put on a pair of brand new shorts, that we got a couple of weeks ago, and they are way too big, they go all the way up the breast bone. Well, I'm going to go walk around the block. Take Care Love Lisa Young

Well it's been a weird week I guess. I was doing good until Mother's Day. I got the cutest card from my little 2 year old that Daycare helped her make. On the front it says Happy Mothers Day and on the inside it says I love you to pieces and has a picture of her with little real puzzle pieces all around it. It was adorable. Nothing from hubby. Clean house and laundry were done for me though! I have been vomitting and had diarhhea since Monday so went to the ER yesterday because it wouldn't stop and all I did was sleep, puke and poo. I have a viral infection in my intestine. Lovely! I should be better in a couple of days. Hard part is my job is getting antsy with me being gone and I may lose my job. Even though I have doc note after doctor's note, they don't really care. They just want someone there. That's real unfortunate. My direct manager who has been wonderful is out on maternity leave already so she can't even protect me from the big dogs. Goals for the rest of this week: Drink my Propel and water Try to get out and walk, even if it's just down the block Start eating more. I have not eaten anything since Sunday. I'm really not getting any protein in and this is causing problems. I'm down to 218 *started at 263) so that's good but I need to force myself to get protein in. Not today of course because I'm on clears for 24 hours to get past this "bug". I wish I had more energy and I wish I was more positive. I hope everyone is doing well...I think of all of you!!! Hugs, jen

Jen, sorry to hear that you have the "bug" and don't you wonder how so much can come out both ends when so little is going in? I always felt that way when I had the flu We were all wondering where you've been. You know that Amy and I are watching you closely and depending on you for inspiration so get out there and walk as soon as you feel better and eat your protein. ( I know...easy for me to say, huh?) I want you to be strong and positive so that when I have the surgery, you can tell me that it gets better and I won't feel like sh*t for long. I have my first appt with Dr. G's office on the 17th.......less than a week...woohoo! Keep your chin up girl (you don't want it dragging in the toilet) Leslie
