Hi all! So sorry that I forgot goals and Roll call Monday. I was physically and mentally exhausted after my uncle's funeral over the weekend, so stayed home. I was home Tuesday as well for appointments all day. (More on that later.) A couple of weeks ago, about 30 of us got together at the Genesis campus to celebrate the 100th patient through the Genesis Center for Bariatric Surgery. They took pics and did a write up. It was in the Genesis flyer section of the paper today. My pic is there along with a little blurb about the exercising that I do. All in all, it was a good piece. I have e-mailed the media contact to see if they have an online version so I can post a connection, but I doubt that they do. I'll let you know when I know - probably next week. I'm just a little excited about it, can you tell? Also, on another note - I went to see a plastic surgeon Tuesday. I only went to talk to him and get his recommendations. I also wanted to see what he recommended in terms of having another baby and surgery options. Well, I'm a little flabbergasted because when I left, they were going to submit things into insurance. AHHHHHHHHHH He said that I will probably get approved for the tummy tuck - and he does muscle repair with that. He also said that I need the belt lipectomy, but I'm not sure what his feelings were about insurance for that. He was also going to recommend a thigh lift and said that he gets coverage for 50% of the cases for thighs. The boobs - nope - he said they are hardly ever covered, but I think he was going to try anyway. When I asked him about another baby, he said that I could plan a baby before or after surgery. The way I interpretted his thinking was that my tummy will never be stretch-mark-free and will always have some issues with excess fat (a little higher up because of my open roux-en-y incision scar and open gall bladder scar) and basically that my tummy will never be perfect, so it won't ruin much to have another baby. OH my gosh, then I talk to Jesi who was approved in like a week and we have the same insurance, so I'm thinking - wow - what do I do now? Do we have another baby, do I have surgery this summer???? I don't know!!!! I'm just reeling from the appointment, still. I certainly didn't expect it to be happening this soon!!! Well, thanks for listening and for all of your wonderful support! God bless, Andrea

You are going to be one gorgeous hot mamma! And I'm a bit jealous. My surgoen told me that I had no chance of getting my TT paid by insurance so we didn't even try. I see him on the 1st to talk about my thighs. I'll have to see if they will at least try to get mine paid for. That would be cool. Maybe, I'll have to make a roadtrip to a certain plastic surgeon in Davenport. I'm not sure if I understand what he means when he said that your tummy would not be perfect so it wouldn't ruin it by having a baby. I understand it not getting ruined by the baby as I read you can successfuly carry a baby after a TT but you'd be surprised just how wondeful your tummy will be after the TT. I wish you could see mine in person. It is so hard & tight. You know how yours feels when you suck in your gut really hard? That's what mine feels like all the time but without any fat to hide it! And when I do suck it in harder, well, wow! I never thought I'd see the day! I am working my abs so that hopefully someday I'll have a "sixpack." It's been over 2 months since my TT & I'm like a little kid with a new toy! I am constantly rubbing & touching it! (so is Al, by the way except I'm the new toy!) Dixie

Naaaaaaaaaaa, not so sure about that "hot mamma" stuff!!! If you need to visit this plastic surgeon, he's in Moline, Illinois. My doctor recommended him. The more and more I think about it, the more I want a baby first. Will have to see how things work out. Now, you and Al enjoy that new toy of yours!!! God bless, Andrea

Morning Andrea Congrats How exciting! Keep us posted on what you decide to do. For myself I'm still debating about PS. Maybe I'll just go for a consult & take it from there. I don't have to worry about the baby part, would be a millionaire if that happens! Good luck hon Hugs Carolyn

Andrea, I am so happy for you! You are planning on having another baby? I wish you the best in every possible way. I would say go for it gf...If the baby cannot ruin your tt, go for it and see what happens next. Or wait to have a baby first and then get all the baby fat done while you get your tt. I am really happy for you. Keep us posted on you decision. COngrats on both counts God Bless Becka

You better keep that paper so I can see it!!! I wish I could buy the Davenport paper here Isn't the whole plastics thing exciting??? I hope you hear something soon.....I was like majorly shocked when I was approved so darn fast!!! Okay I just re-read that and I totally sounded like a valley girl.....YUCK! I will update you about my plastics next time we talk.....I decided to do the whole thing....pay out of pocket for the extra.....and since I will be under anyways I am now going in June for a consult on my boobs.....might as well do it all at once And since the approval is good thru December we can use Jasons bonus to help pay for it You know me tho.......I am SO NOT patient so the waiting will kill me, but will be worth it, and who knows.....if try hard I might be able to drop 10 or so more pounds before then!!!! Have a great weekend and talk to you soon!!! Jesi

So sorry to hear about your uncle. It's never easy to lose someone. On another note, though, WOW! Things are sure happening quickly for you aren't they. I can hardly wait to join you all in the losers club (open RNY scheduled for 5/24/05). Hang in there, we're praying for you. LoriW
