Need advice
I had my surgery in 10/2001. I lost 100 of the 250 pounds that I needed to lose. I gained back 30 lost 10 and stayed at 342 for a year or more. I had hernia surgery 03/13/05. Since then I have dropped 12 pounds and back to eating small amounts. I am no longer grazing or snacking. Has anyone else been thru this? I am so far able to control my eating back to very small portions. The dietician actually told me that I am not eating enough. NO One has ever told me that in my whole life as I have always been fat. Please let me know what you have been thru. Thanks
This is not uncommon! I experienced something like it, not as dramatic. I had a hysterectomy back in Oct....and I too felt like it reset my pouch....but in reality it was myself......I had to be on a liquid diet for a day before surgery and didn't eat for a day or two afterwards.....when I did start eating again, I felt like I had a new pouch.......I think it is why everyone alwasy says get back to basics......we have this tool, which is pretty tough and it works good.....IF and ONLY IF~we use it!!! We re-teach ourselves how to eat the bad stuff and we figure out what goes down good and what we can eat the most of......if we try for a couple days and eat right......4 oz meat and a few ounces of veggies....and we stick to it for a couple days.....we have the ability to lose weight. The hard part is sticking to it Keep eating right and drinking lots of water and I bet you will start losing again!!! Take Care and keep us updated! Jesi
